This is much easier and safer than using a hatchet. Good quality and solid built. It obviously depends on what you are splitting but I was able to pound some pretty big pieces through this. It really shines for making kindling size pieces. I have it outside now but it will likely live right beside the furnace for quickly splitting some fine kindling to start the fire. Perfect for anyone that burns wood. The price isn't cheap but the quality is worth it.
