No roof racks needed. Just grab and go to your favorite fishing spot. Reconfigure your kayak for lakes, rivers, or coasts. We have a kayak for all environments, ensuring the best setup for any angler. Our tandem kayaks offer space, stability, and comfort — perfect for couples, friends, family outings, or solo trips on the water. Reel Yaks modular kayaks offer versatility, fishing upgrades, and various drive systems for reliability and freedom to do it all. How easy is it to assemble the two-piece kayak? Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into multiple manageable sections for easier transport and storage. Assembly is tool-free and designed to take only a few minutes once you are familiar with the process. What tools are needed for assembly? No tools are required. Reel Yaks kayaks are designed for tool-free assembly, allowing the sections to be connected quickly before launching. How long does it take to put together? Assembly typically takes only a few minutes once you are familiar with the system, since the modular sections are designed to connect quickly without tools. Does it come with all necessary accessories (stadium seat, rod holder, paddle)? Reel Yaks kayaks come ready to use with essential accessories included. This includes a stadium seat, rod holders, and paddle(s), so you can head straight out on the water without needing extra gear. Will it fit in my car/SUV without roof racks? Yes. Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into sections that can fit in many sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs, eliminating the need for roof racks or trailers. How much does each section weigh? Each section is designed to be carried by one person. Depending on the model, sections typically weigh between 27 and 51 lbs, making them manageable for solo transport. What are the exact dimensions when disassembled? When disassembled, each section is compact and easy to store. Most modular sections range from approximately 55" to 65" in length, depending on the model. Do the sections come with storage bags? Reel Yaks kayaks do not include storage bags. However, the modular sections are designed to stack neatly or store easily in small spaces like apartments or garages. How stable is it for standing and fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are designed with wide, stable hulls and flat standing areas, allowing anglers to stand and cast depending on water conditions and load. Can two people use it safely (adult + child)? Some Reel Yaks models are designed for solo or tandem use, allowing two people to paddle together. Examples include the 14ft Raptor and 14ft Raider (Prop Drive) models. How fast does the pedal drive propulsion work? Prop drive systems provide forward and reverse propulsion, making them useful for maneuvering around structures, docks, and fishing areas. Is it suitable for saltwater fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are made from durable rotomolded polyethylene. This material is resistant to corrosion and suitable for use in saltwater environments. Are there known issues with the rudder system or steering cables? The rudder system is reliable but may require occasional adjustment over time. Simple cable tension adjustments can quickly resolve most steering issues. How durable are the propeller fins and connections? The propeller drive components are built for durability and regular use. However, like most pedal systems, they should be protected from impacts with rocks or obstacles to avoid damage. What's covered under the 2-year coverage? Reel Yaks covers defects for original buyers: hull/deck 2 yrs, pedal drive 1 yr, parts/accessories 90 days. Excludes wear, misuse, accidents, mods, transport damage, and commercial use. • Best purchase of my lifetime
Style: Fin Drive
Allow me to say I've purchased a lot of out door things in my lifetime, but dude seriously like all things we buy no matter what reviews say u are always sceptical ,but upon receiving this kayak it came in a super strong sturdy box which even surprised the Amazon guy cause he says kayaks usually come in a clear bag .Inside each side of the kayak were inside these super large gray pull string like duffel bags..Upon pulling everything out the quality of this unit was the first thing that grabbed my attention.WOW ALLL STURDY ,STRONG AND GREATLY MADE PARTS.Everything was already built in except the peddles and the rudder ,but everything else was already PUT together .The peddles and all were already built just needed to put them inside the kayak .Secondly all the Bungees etc were all connected JUST LIKE U SEE IN THE PIC IS HOW I RECEIVED IT PRETTY MUCH.Your pole holder is inside your dry bag compartment in front of your chair so don't think it's missing and u simply slip it in its spot and lock it in.Don't look on you tube on how to to do the rudder and peddles .The videos suck just go to Reel Yaks .com and they have great videos .Took me no longer then 20 minutes once I got watched the videos .Again guys just an absolute gem of a kayak for the price .The storing and break down of this unit is fantastic .I've took it out twice and the tracking and peddle system had me gliding through a nice size resevoir with no issues. If any of YALL know where Otter Resevoir Is in Antimony Utah know the size of it.It took a lil wind with no issues and cruised through a bit of a white cap with ease.Still need a kayak anchor but for now I'm using one of my ten pound dumbbells.Seriously folks get this kayak,my two buddies have the hobie and they paid in the high 2,000s and they both said if this one would of been out a few years back they woulda bought this one no doubt .9.5 feet is perfect for me which I am 5'9" . THANKS REEL YAKS SERIOUSLY U EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS….So I’ve come back to give u guys and gals a part two ..It has held up amazing for the amount of times I’ve took it out this spring ,summer and fall in fact with climate change the reservoir I fish at is going on year two where the lake isn’t froze over so Ive been able to use it this winter on the lake as well.I wanted to add it takes on the wear and tare so good.I rarely drag it cause it being a two piece with handles each side is like 40 pounds do super light, but the few times I’ve had to over small rocks etc it’s held up great .just wanted to say I will be putting a trolling motor on it next and I’ll be back to let yall know how it worked out.Ill assume now it will do just great .I promise u this IS A MUST BUY ,if u don’t want to have to use trailers and or take up all of your garage cause u cant break it down .This one is different ... show more

  • Best Purchase ever!
Style: Fin Drive
Great Kayak, I've been using it for a year now. unbeatable convenience and flexibility. Each piece is light enough to carry a good distance, even for older folks. The fin drive works great in weedy lakes. I also bought the electric motor plug which allows you to remove the fin drive and use a kayak trolling motor (also available here on Az) to turn this into a fish missile. I can fish anywhere on a 2 mile lake with a 20AH LiFePO battery for about 5hrs/charge. Paddles the same as my other kayaks, with the advantage of a keel for extra tracking control. You can also turn it into a tandem, they offer a third 'middle section' separately. I did have a problem where the keel stopped functioning, I emailed the company and they sent me a video of how to fix it within a few hours!. ... show more

  • WOW!
Style: Fin Drive
Great kayak. Having a modular (two part) kayak allows me to fit this kayak in my midsized SUV. No roof rack. I can also easily store this kayak. The two parts of the kayak fit together quickly and are water tight. Quite the game changer which will allow a lot more people to buy a kayak. The pedal system works very well and I much prefer pedals over paddles. The rudder is effective and this kayak tracks well and moves quickly. Lots of extras are included. This kayak is a great bargain at the price. The seat is comfortable. The storage bin is easy to use. The quality is impressive. I had tried an inflatable kayak but it leaked the first time I used it. This is a study, well built kayak that is easy to use. Hobie kayaks which I have owned cost much more. Hobie should buy this company. Reel Yaks should get ready for a big demand for this innovative, high quality, pedal kayak at a great price. ... show more

  • Piece of Junk - DO NOT BUY
Style: Fin Drive
Enthusiastic about trying this since I do not have a truck or roof rack. Right out of the box, there were issues. Does not feel like it's made well at all. Quality does not feel like the price point. Had to hunt down YouTube videos for installation (their comments are disabled) because the instructions weren't clear and the pictures were low quality. The thing did not come with a rudder safety ring, so I had to buy a hitch clip. Then the rudder release cable went inside the kayak. I tried for HOURS to thread it through to no avail. I contacted the manufacturer for "support". They sent me a video for the WRONG KAYAK. Here I am removing this and that, all for a simple cord. Their website claims that they are based in Wyoming, yet I received an email from customer support at 5 AM, and I get the feeling that they are not native English speakers. Returning this item pronto, and will not be buying another one. ... show more

  • The kayak's great, delivery not so great
Style: Fin Drive
This is Reel Yak's Raptor modular kayak - meaning that it comes in two easily transportable parts (it fits easily in the back of my RAV4 unlike my one-piece kayak, which is a roof rack transport) and it even has an available additional center section (at significant extra cost from RY) that would convert it to a two-person dual-propelled kayak. It is well made and comes equipped with most things you want, like aluminum T-rails (with a couple of extra T-nuts in each), rod holders and a comfortable seat. There is a cheap paddle included - I already have a better one, so it really doesn't matter. It rides nicely and is pretty stable on the lake. I'm 5'11''/200# and it fits me pretty well. The seat is very close to the floor, especially in the rear position, so don't expect to store anything under it. This model doesn't have available height extenders for the seat. Plenty of space (and bungees) for a 13"x13" crate on the back and/or a thin pack behind the seat back. Smaller storage at the bow, and a nylon bag in a well just in front of the seat. The paddles work well for forward propulsion - if you want reverse, you need a prop not paddles (or use the kayak paddle). It's easy to propel without a lot of effort if you don't want speed. Quite fast in return for a leg work-out if you pedal hard. Turns pretty well with the rudder. I really like it so far. RY has a lot of extras, but they're not cheap. (Some are available elsewhere at significantly lower cost). I put a couple of 1.5" balls and a couple of attachment rings onto the T-rails without problems. Now for the bad bit: the delivery. Amazon used Ceva Logistics for this (Reel Yaks use FedEx or RL). Supposed to arrive a week ago. Ceva emailed a few days prior to expected arrival to set up a delivery appointment. The provided link does not allow online scheduling. Nor does it allow online tracking. The phone number provided via a popup from the link sat me on hold for 30 minutes, then dropped the call. Repeat that for another round. Tried again the next day (Amazon's anticipated delivery day!), on hold again for almost 30 minutes then finally an agent. The agent had no idea of its current tracking location - it was supposed to be in Ontario (California) and on the way to Sacramento but the last record was at DFW Texas! Couldn't schedule via that number either - they provided me with the local Ceva office number in Sacramento. Another round of 30-minute phone hold x2 before giving up till the next day. Finally scheduled the following morning - for the middle of the following week. I finally got it a week after Amazon's delivery date. On reflection, it would have been much faster (and the same price) to have ordered direct from Reel Yaks. The top of the box was open on arrival, but everything looked intact - no paperwork or instructions in there, but they are available on Reel Yaks' website. Everything was in two large plastic bags - one for each section of the kayak. The rod-holder base and the seat were already attached to the kayak and the paddle unit was already assembled - but the rudder was separate. Made me wonder whether this was a return, since the online RY instructions describe initial seat attachment and needing to assemble the paddle unit. Chunks of the powder coat were already coming off the front rail of the seat, which also has a dent (pictures). Cosmetic only, but not good on a new purchase before its maiden voyage. Note: The star rating is purely for the item: I'd give delivery a single star. ... show more

Received my real yak early by 2 days. I was super excited to receive it. I immediately started the assembly. The assembly was quite easy. That I have loaded it in the back of my Ford edge with lots of room to spare for my fishing tackle / etc. I took it immediately the next day out on the lake and was really impressed as to how easy it is to unload a symbol and getting out on the water to fish. • Great buy!
Style: Fin Drive
I was a bit anxious to receive this kayak. It was a little cheaper than other kayaks listed and I was concerned the quality would not be good. It exceeded expectations! Not only is the kayak very well made, it is sturdy, but also lightweight. The accessories that came with it were comparable to the other more expensive kayaks. This was a great buy! The only negative aspect was that the assembly instructions that came with it were really unclear and hard to follow. However, the company website had very clear instructions with pictures, so once we realized that, assembly was much easier. ... show more
