  • Great Value and Works Very Well.
Size: 4 PC 1 monitor
I obtained this KVM as my workbench has 4 computer hookups and a single 32" monitor. I was usually juggling cables and connections to meet all the needs at one time sometimes and it getting to be a nightmare. My nice $250 KVM went belly-up and the company that made that particular one does not support it anymore because there are no parts (I'll throw that in the repair bin for later). This KCEVE KVM fits my needs very well and the hookup couldn't have been easier. You could throw the manual away as the setup was as simple as you can get. I do like the option to turn off the KVM when not in use. It did take some relearning on my part as I had command switching from my keyboard on the older KVM I had versus this one that you need to push a button to connect the proper computer. It's not a big deal at this point as I have mounted the remote on the workbench and now, I'm used to tapping the remote button for switching. The switching is flawless, and I have absolutely no issue with any connection device thru the switch unit at all. The USB transfer rate thru the KVM is very quick and there is no lag at all. I am using a 4k 32" monitor and the display is as if I had it only hooked up to one computer. I actually ran MFS2020 (Microsoft Flight Simulator) through this KVM from 1 system and you cannot tell the difference in the video at all as well as any of the multitude of USB hubs and devices attached to it. PROS: The Good Stuff 1. This KVM can handle 4 PC's and 1 monitor with single button press. 2. USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.0 capable. 3. Can recognize wireless keyboard, mouse, printers or pretty much anything USB. 4. Transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. 5. USB backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. 6. Switcher works with Windows OS back to WinXP, MacOS, Linux and ChromeOS. 7. Manual is small, very brief but written well. 8. Video resolution up to 3840x2160. 9. Metal casing and quality parts make this a winner. CONS: Things to Think About 1. I would have liked to see keyboard command switching like I had on my other expensive KVM. I know some people might complain how much this KVM is being sold for, but compared to other commercial KVM's this unit is a bargain and is worth every penny of it for what you get in my opinion. If you are looking to get into adding a KVM to your setup, I would highly recommend giving this unit a try. ... show more

  • A Reliable and Convenient KVM Switch
Size: 4 PC 1 monitor
I recently acquired this KCEVE KVM switch for my workbench, where I have four computer hookups and a single 32" monitor. Previously, I had to constantly juggle cables and connections, which became quite a hassle. My previous expensive KVM switch stopped working, and finding replacement parts was impossible. That's when I came across this KCEVE KVM, which turned out to be a perfect fit for my needs. Setting up this KVM switch was a breeze, and the included manual was concise and well-written. I appreciate the option to turn off the switch when it's not in use. While I had to adjust to the button-based switching method instead of using keyboard commands, it's now second nature to me. The switching between computers is flawless, with no connectivity issues whatsoever. The USB transfer rate through the KVM switch is impressively quick, and I experience no lag. Even with my 4K 32" monitor, the display quality remains exceptional. I even tested running resource-intensive software, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, through this KVM switch, and the video quality was indistinguishable from a direct connection. Additionally, all my USB devices, from wireless keyboards to printers, work seamlessly with this switch. PROS: The Good Stuff Handles 4 PCs and 1 monitor with a single button press. Capable of USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.0. Recognizes and supports wireless keyboards, mice, and other USB devices. Provides transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. Backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. Solid metal casing and quality components ensure durability. Supports video resolutions up to 3840x2160. CONS: Things to Consider I would have preferred keyboard command switching, similar to my previous expensive KVM switch. Considering the price and the features it offers, this KVM switch is a remarkable value. It may be pricier than some other options, but compared to commercial KVM switches, it's an absolute bargain. If you're looking to enhance your setup with a reliable KVM switch, I highly recommend giving this unit a try. ... show more

  • By far the best KVM I tested and is now my main kvm
Size: 4 PC 1 monitor
This KVM is a true KVM instead of the cheaper versions out there that are just glorified HDMI and USB switchers. You might ask what the difference is... The main difference is that KVMs are supposed to make switching seamless and that means recording and emulating the monitor identification signals that almost all monitors have today. Without this, everytime you switch inputs, it's like someone yanked the monitor from your computer and then later plugs it back in. Why is this an issue? Well multiple monitors or screens usually results in multiple workspaces or desktops or whatever it's called in the OS. Each of these workspaces/desktops have some windows placed on them. When you disconnect a monitor, your OS will yank those windows and place them on your primary display. When you reconnect that display, the OS will often try to restore the last state of that screen and put the windows back but it's not perfect. Plus, when it reconnects the monitor it goes through a sync cycle to rediscover the monitor and figure out what resolution and modes it supports. That can cause a 30-60s delay each time you switch and then followed by windows getting moved around. In some cases, I've had monitors not able to resync which requires unplugging and then replugging the htmi cable or power cycling the monitor. This KVM stores the monitor id code and simulates that to the host computer so to the computer it looks like the monitor never went away so when you switch back, the screen just comes back almost instantaneously and your windows don't get shuffled around. ... show more
