  • Perfect for a multibox setup!
Size: 4 PC USB switch
At my desk I have a Desktop PC, a Mac Mini, and a Linux Raspberry Pi. I already have the 3 devices hooked up to an HDMI switch, but needed a solution for my Keyboard and Mouse. This box meets those needs offering up to 4 computers as an option. The switch box itself has buttons on top, and green LEDs indicating connection. What I didn't realize came with it was the little wired remote that I can adhere out of sight such as under the edge of the desk. I can switch between the computers from that allowing me to also hide the box out of sight behind my desk. Everything works really well and it came with 4x USB-A to USB-B 3.0 cables (the cable that connects your computer to the switch). It also includes a micro-USB to USB-A cable to provide power (although I didn't need to use it. I suspect my computer was providing power through one of the connections). I am considering getting an additional one for work. I have to image and set up computers at my desk, and having a way to easily switch between machines without unplugging a keyboard and mouse to switch between them would be a quality of life improvement for me. Everything about this has a quality feel to it. It's not cheap plastic and cables. The box is made of metal, and the cables are thick like they have shielding. Over all I am super happy with this product. One note, the rating system asked me to rate the "camera quality". As this doesn't have a camera, I assume it was asking about webcam quality used through this? I don't have a webcam so I gave it a 3/5. Didn't want to give it full marks falsely, but didn't want to give a 1 unjustly. ... show more

  • Works well most of the time
Size: 3 PC 2 monitor switch
The DP KVM works well most of the time except for on occasion the screen goes blank for a couple seconds. Also the lack of EDID emulation is annoying compared to my previous switch but I do have a work around for my laptop. I use the KVM with two desktops and one laptop. Because of the lack of EDID emulation when I switch to one of the desktops, windows 10 running on the laptop puts all the windows on the laptop screen. This is annoying because when I switch back to the laptop all the windows go back to my main display including the one that were on the laptop display. Very annoying. To work around this, I connected an HDMI cable from my laptop directly to my monitor. The laptop now thinks that my monitor is connected to two different displays, one DP one HDMI even though they are both the same monitor. I then configured windows to duplicate the display connected to the HDMI port on to the DP port. This keeps the windows from moving when I switch away from the laptop as the HDMI port is always connected to the monitor and so the windows don't move. ... show more

  • UISB 3.0 switching at full speed
Size: 4 PC USB switch
If you just need to share USB devices, a complete KVM with video capabilities is a waste. I just wanted to share USB peripherals with several computers, and most USB switches are designed for USB 2.0 devices, limiting the speed severely. The Camgeet switch supports full USB 3.0 (5 mb/s) speed. A keyboard and mouse might get along fine at lower speeds, but printers, scanners, high end cameras, and storage devices are more demanding. You can plug in up to 4 USB 3.0 devices to share. On ther computer side, USB type B connectors are used, and cables are included in the box so you won't have to search for and buy the high speed version of the USB printer cables you might have on hand. The switching is fast and reliable. Switches to select the computer to share to are on the top of the box so you won't want to bury it underneath anything. A wired remote switch is also included to make it easier to switch - there are four buttons so you can directly switch to the channel you want. A micro USB power port is available in case your USB devices require more power than your ports supply, or if you need to keep something powered continuously between switching. ... show more

  • Quality switcher. Questionable button arrangement. BRIGHT green LEDs.
Size: 4 PC USB switch
This seems like a high quality switcher from the circuit and case. I like that both the case and the remote have individual buttons to switch (no cycling through all 4 machines). The buttons are arranged in a cross (same on the remote). Clockwise from the top they are: 3 2 4 1. I think this is bad. I'm using it just as a peripheral switcher so I don't really need the USB 3.0, but I've had device initialization issues with other cheap switchers in the past so I thought this might be a step up in quality. It is. The green LEDs are overbright. I appreciate that they used light pipes, and diffused the tops, but they're still way too bright. I put a dab of silicone RTV on the LEDs inside the case, and they're still brighter than I prefer. == Circuit / Internals == The build is a bit of work to take apart because the LED light guides, and buttons are inserted after assembly. Even though the LED guides are frosted on top I still found the LEDs too bright. The first thing I see in the circuit is a separate DC input. This isn't necessary, but it can let you switch without any machine powered on. Also each USB PC port seems to provide power through a diode so they will all remain isolated from each other. I think this will prevent weird issues with some USB devices. They lasered the part numbers off the main chips, but not 100% so I can make some guesses about what they are. There are 3 'secret' chips: the USB 2.0 switch, USB 3.0 switch, and USB 3.0 4-port hub. - The USB 2.0 switch is a TI part. 16-TSSOP 2-channel 4:1 switch. Maybe something like SN74LV4052. - The USB 3.0 switch is a WCH part. It's a 42-QFN, and switches two differential channels in a 4:1 configuration. A good match might be WCH CH484M. - The USB 3.0 hub comes from Genesys Logic. At first I was leaning towards GL3523, but the diff. pair layout doesn't match up. GL3510 looks like a good match in a 64-QFN. Aside from that there's some power circuitry, and an unknown microcontroller hanging out on the back of the circuit board. It reads the buttons/remote, controls LEDs, and triggers the switch chips. ... show more
