The cover holds a lot of water off it rains. But it holds on tighter than expected. It’sa great size sandbox but you do need very level ground for it to work. There’s no bottom to it

My grandson LOVES this sandbox!! It’s very big and the sides are great to sit on. I can even sit on it and I’m not a skinny woman. I bought it for him last summer and it’s still in perfect condition. And we live in Michigan where it snows. A lot!! It does need a lot of sand. My son bought about 8 bags and that barely filled it. We are buying another 5-8 bags this week.

Cheap thin cedar, with chemical smell. Ground has to be absolutely level or it leaks. Top is useless unless its job is to actually catch water.
