My daughter loves the sandbox but I am always a little worried about letting her play in the ones at the park for fear of animal feces and other unexpected things. Therefore, I decided to purchase this sandbox. It was fairly easy to put together, although you have to pay close attention because some of the parts look the same. They are individually marked though. It is very, very solid. We had a very bad storm recently with 50 mph winds that knocked everything in our yard over, including our table. The sandbox did not move an inch. The canopy did not even come off! It is made of solid wood. However, there is no bottom to the sandbox, it's just a plastic tarp. As long as you don't plan on moving it, that does not pose a problem. It has plenty of room. 3-4 toddlers can comfortably play in it. It also has a nice seating area for adults to sit. It does need a lot of sand to fill it but we were able to purchase our sand for $3 per 50 pound bag so the cost is not too bad. We bought 8 bags. The one thing I do not like about this sandbox is that the canopy does not stop the sand from getting soaked. It would have been nice if either the canopy or the cover they provide with it were water proof because after a heavy rain my dughter cannot play in the sandbox for several days until it dries out. Overall this sandbox is excellent and I would definitely buy it again. Update: October 30, 2012 I live in an area hit by hurricane Sandy. There are trees down all over my area, as well as downed power lines and flooding. I went outside this morning to check on the sandbox and it only moved a foot! The whole structure is still intact. The only thing we need to do is get a new tarp for the bottom because when the sandbox was moved (winds were 85-90 mph) it ripped the tarp. Now THAT is good quality! ... show more

    • Adorable sandbox and worth the price

I got this for my granddaughters. They are just too big (3 and 5) to both fit comfortably in the plastic one I bought a couple years ago.. It took my adult son about 2 hours to put this together for his nieces. He said that the instructions were a little off and the illustrations are not always a perfect match for what's actually in the box, but because the design is simple, he was able to figure everything out. When I got home and saw this sweet little sandbox in the backyard, I fell in love with it. It is very sturdy and just adorable. There is no bottom but it does come with a plastic liner and a lightweight fabric cover to tie over the sand to keep critters from using it as a litter box. I had to go to Home Depot anyway for the sand (about 6-8 bags depending on how full you want it), so I picked up some thicker plastic to reinforce the bottom.     • Not perfect, but really great sandbox!

I bought this sandbox a little over a year ago and it's great! My daughter plays in it practically every single day, and it's been wonderful for her. The size is great, the water buckets and toy bins are super useful, and the cover is perfect to keep the sand in and the animals out. Installs easily, it took way more sand than I realized, I bought 18 50-pound bags and I used at least 12. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the wood has cracked quite a bit. Not to the point where it's falling apart or anything, but the posts that hold up the canopy have cracks running up them, and the bottom of the toy boxes splintered. Luckily I figured that one out the hard way, not my little girl, and it was an easy fix with a couple of inches of sand on the bottom of each toy box. Overall, we love this sandbox, would definitely buy it again if we ever move! ... show more

Just got it. Took some time to assemble but not hard. Looks just like on website pics. Sz is perfect for my 20 month old. Took about 300lbs of sand just enough. Only thing is i wish the clear plastic bottom was better pinned in place once assembled its loose by the top all around and sand is definitely alteady getting in there. I will try to find a staple gun to try to staple it all around. Other than that it looks great. Hope it lasts. Will need to find a better cover though besides the mesh one ... show more

    • Worst Assembly Instructions Ever

Worst assembly instructions I have ever seen! Just drawings, no written directions. I can’t even tell you how many hours it took to put together because i have been trying to assemble since February! And it’s now May! I finally finished, but several of the boards have split in the process and one broke entirely. You work with a tiny Allen wrench and I had to take apart sections and redo them over and over again because of random screw holes you don’t even use! This was the hardest thing I have ever assembled in my life and there’s not even that many pieces! The 4 posts that you start off with were my biggest nemesis. The pictures do not show you which way to position boards. The wood is very brittle. I hope my grandson enjoys it because it certainly gave me major grey hairs and some choice words were muttered! Don’t attempt unless you are very good with only pictures and you don’t mind screwing and unscrewing with a tiny tool many many many times over! My fingertips are very sore. I will be lucky to get one season out of this. It did arrive promptly but a very heavy box. ... show more

i wish this had a hard cover but of course that would have added to the price. This has a bunch of cute litter compartments for toy storage or pretend play the possibilities are endless. It has a nice ledge that I'm able to sit on and play without climbing into the thing. Of course the canopy is a huge plus we have a lot of sun and sunblock only does so much plus on the really hot days it keeps the sand from being hot like at the beach.
