Bought this as a gift and I use it just as much! The only ‘downside’ to this piece is you can’t zoom. But for birdwatching or simply sight seeing this works great! We use it to watch the birds at our feeders. Would recommend.

This neat telescope has definitely changed the game! We bought 3 for our male inlaws and they were definitely a hit!! They weren't too hard to figure out how to use them. Even my 68 year old grandpa was super impressed by how easy it was to be used. You can't forget your smart phone when using. You can see what your looking at on your phone. How awesome is that?!     • OK as a Monocular; terrible for taking photos/video
As a monocular, this product is...fine. You put it up to your eye and you can see far away as advertised. There is some abberation (rainbow edges) but not too bad for the price. However the build quality is so bad, the advertised phone camera functionality is nearly useless. There are several extra bits of plastic or rubber dangling off. More importantly, the tripod thread on the monocular's underside does not tighten all the way, so it wobbles severely on both the included tripod and my personal tripod. Obviously when viewing something far away, your telescope device wobbling means completely losing your subject. The included tripod itself is also poorly made. The legs do not lock nor do the feet have rubber grips, so the only choice is to let them splay wide open about 55 degrees (?) outward from plumb. So although the legs have 5 length settings, it all amounts to whether the device is 1 inch off your surface or 2 inches. Ridiculous. The camera phone attachment is even worse nearly. It's comprised of a phone grip (similar to a phone dashboard mount) and a circular eyepiece attachment whose distance from the grip is adjusted using a thumbscrew. You adjust the angle and length to align your camera lens with the monocular eyepiece. The clamp grips the sides of your phone, meaning it presses all the phone's buttons. You have to manually align the eyepiece with your lens, meaning either your phone or the monocular must be tilted. And even when you do get it aligned, it attaches to the eyepiece simply using friction. Getting it all to work together is a nightmare, even in my own home. I absolutely cannot imagine trying adjust all these shoddily made parts to film a distant animal or something moving quickly. It is built like a kid's toy and nowhere near up to the job. For this to have 4.5 stars is his highly suspicious. Unless you are looking for the bare minimum, lose-able monocular to give to a kid I would stay away from this product.     • Concert Monocular
I purchased the Monocular because I was attending a concert & my seats were higher up in the arena. I thought it was a clever idea to be able to connect a binocular to my phone to see close up and take pictures at the same time. It’s best to secure the clip into the phone get it centered around the camera eye opening before mounting the monocular to the clip. Phone cameras have different lens positions so you have to avoid covering it. It does work, I tried it at home but I had difficulty at the show because it’s dark in the arena and was hard for me to center. I do recommend using the Monocular for daytime activities. ... show more

The Monocular works very nice when looking through it with your eyes, but when you mount your phone to it, you don't get a fullscreen image (see attached photo). To fill the screen, you're required to zoom in on the phone (which degrades picture quality) , so I returned mine.

Hello. I am a parent of an Archery Student in the local school. Sitting on the bleachers watching the arrows hit the target and not able to quite see the score. Not no more. This Monocular Telescope if the perfect size to fit in a pocket, hold with one hand, and also powerful enough to see the target to score.     • Don’t be fooled
Saw these on a Black Friday special. Was skeptical of the “80x100” description, but for less than 20 bucks was willing to roll the dice. I have 25x100 binoculars but was looking for something that could be carried in a pocket hunting or scouting the cattle. Be advised, this monocular is nowhere near 80 power. It’s probably more like 8. And 100 mm objective lens - laughable. It’s more like 20. All-in-all though, it’s kind of cute and seems to be pretty well made. Ended up buying 4 more to put in each of the grandkids stockings. ... show more
