Box open and in bad shape. No instructions. Will not ratchet. My son came up with couple ideas how to get a full 360 . My mount will not let it do that so have to change it, but yes it is very heavy duty I would get the strap and not the cable. Cable has been wound so long it has a memory and want to unroll.

I got this winch as a part for a DIY project, knowing that it has a 800lbs capacity. That's really too light to be used for much. But it's perfect for what I wanted it for. I'm basically using it as a low capacity come-along. I have a come-along that has 2 ton capacity... this is not that. I've mounted this winch in two applications actually. I have mounted it on an extension for my hitch receiver and use it to pull heavy objects -- docks and such, from the water. I've also mounted it on a tube that I use to adjust the height of my dock. In both cases, the 800lbs capacity is more than I need.

It's light but it pulls it's own weight (Pun intended) and then some. I got it to mount to a flat bed trailer to help loading and unloading of cargo, but the second day I had it I ended up needing to pull down a portion of a structure I was demolishing. I used this winch to stay a safe distance away from the structure while it was pulled down, it had no problem doing so, I was surprised how well it did the job!

I used this for my south Texas winch feeder. It works great. The winch was rated for 800# and the feeder is a 55 gal barrel so it holds 300 pounds of corn. The hook is crimped on which isn't preferred if you have any application where you need to remove it. Luckily the feeder pulley system worked without having to remove the hook. It would be better with cable cinch bolts. Cable is around 25' long.
