Perfect for cutting wires as thick as 2 AWG, and all the wire gauges involved in my solar battery power system wiring (2, 4, 8, 12). I have small lady hands and it was very easy to grip and use these. I also used them to strip stubborn wire insulation by carefully twisting and rubbing the insulation against one of the blades in this pair of cutters until I could feel a little contact with copper wires against the blade. For $12, these cable cutters have blown me away. The largest cable I have in my battery project is 1/0, but it cuts it like butter. I could absolutely go way bigger. They advertise up to 2/0, and based on my experience, that's a given. The cuts are clean. Really clean. I can trim bits off with super accuracy. These are really sharp and have no gap for wires to sneak out of. Also, the wire strippers are great. I spend $15 on Southwire strippers that I hate! I've tossed those and now just use the wire strippers on this cable cutter. Just like the cable part, they are sharp and the right gauge. I have some larger, name-brand cable cutters that were twice this price (and of course harder to store). These smaller cutters simply work better in every way. I couldn't be happier with these , I was installing 2 and 4 Guage power and ground wires for car stereo. (2 JL amps). I had never had such thick wires before , so I picked these up to help with the install . These made it super easy to strip the wire. Two thumbs up!

These are absolutely the best wire cutters I have had in a long time. They cut right through 00 gauge wire with no problem. Would recommend 10/10.

Really nice capable and quality made cutter for most wires out there with a safety close latch that's wonderful to keep those vey sharp jaws closed when not in use preventing accidental cuts. I was looking for some wire cutters that were not heavy to hold but sturdy enough to cut through artificial flower stems. These cutters worked beautifully and were very comfortable in my hands. I have some arthritis issues, so the comfortability and ergonomics of the cutter was very important to me. The handles have a soft rubber grip which is really nice. I needed to do a lot of cutting to make floral decorations for my daughter’s wedding. They easily made nice clean cuts. I am so happy to have these now for future uses.     • Not a lifetime tool but works great.
I used this to cut 8awg wire for a project I was doing on my truck. Works greats. Most likely not a tool that would last a lifetime but worth the money I paid and it will serve me for the few heavy wiring projects that I do.
