Quality: 5/5 Smoothness: 4/5 Price: 3/5 They're nice springy sponges and from their texture, they'll last a decent amount of projects before they go bad. You won't have circle marks if you use a generous amount of product and press firmly but not too soft. Just like a make up sponge when you're dabbing it on your face, chalk paint is porous, so is your skin. When you pick up the paint with your sponge make sure it coats your sponge evenly for leveled application. These sponges are good enough for distressing too if you're into distressing in chalk painting, or painting in general If you don't like brush strokes with chalk paint, then these sponges are what you want for a smoother finish, as well as a bit of sand paper to give it a light satin sheen. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. These work great for painting the base color on my hand made door hangers. The paint goes on smooth and pretty even. When I first opened the sponges they were all smooshed and I panicked a little. After reading other reviews I saw that you could wet them to make them get their shape back, but I didn’t have time to let them dry so I used a hot blow dryer instead of setting them and it worked perfectly!
