My wife has gone through many hair straighteners ranging in price from $30 to $250. The only reason I gave this a 4 star review is if you compare this to the $250 straighteners, you may be disappointed. In terms of value, however, this is a 5 star product for $30. This straightener feels very light and plasticky, but at this price point that is what your expectations must be. The plates are very nice which is obviously an important feature. The cons on this product would be its overall feel and it does take longer than the higher priced ones to heat up. Once again, if you are expecting $250 features on a $30 straightener, then I would not recommend this for you. Now the pros. You can't beat the price. The value is there. It does have an auto shutoff which is very important because if you are like my wife, she forgets to turn it off. The temperature reading is digital and can be in Celsius or Fahrenheit. It get the job done. If are need a straightener that gets the job done at a very good price, I would definitely recommend you give this one a try. If you need a heavy, higher quality straightener that heats up very fast, you are in the wrong price range. ... show more

I have and have had many flat irons. This iron has many features I like. It comes with a heat glove and two hair clips. The bright digital temp gauge is nice. The insert says it heats in 10 seconds, but it is a bit longer if you use the highest temp, which is 230°. I like how much thinner the blades are compared to other irons. It makes it easier to put the whip curl at the ends of my hair and makes a quick curl easy-going compared to its more expensive, brand name competitors. Reads in Celsius 180 up to 230. The glove is good for not burning yourself when there is an accidental quick brush of the flat iron plates. The clips that come with it work well with thin short hair. The wife's iron died and needed to buy here a new one. I found this '7magic' one with the controls and the display that she wanted and from the specs was what she said she wanted. So - got it today - gave it to her - she couldn't wait. She loves it, loves the controls and especially the display. There's no guessing with this one. Right out of the box to me it seemed well made and I'm usually pretty ciritcal on that point - but the proof is in the using it and I let her go with it. She loves it. This straightener actually surprised me on its quality because it is far slimmer than my old straightener. It heats up quickly and leaves my hair feeling smooth. I love the slimness of this straightener and how it has a lock you can slide to lock it closed before storing. It also makes for easy traveling and takes up minimal space in the luggage.
