I got this for 2 purposes- to cover the places on my couch where the cats like to claw, and to cover the scratching post that used to be coated in carpeting but had gotten shredded from overuse. Works great to protect the couch- the adhesive is strong enough to stay on but peels off cleanly to reposition, and they leave those areas alone now. the dark gray blends well wit my chocolate brown couch. Worked poorly for the scratching post. They rejected it and now I need to find another piece of their favorite carpeting to re-cover that. My cats really like this scratch mat. It is easy to use, just measure, cut and remove the clear film to expose the stick pad. I like how the back has cut guides to help with cutting straight lines. I ordered this roll to put on some shelves I mounted on the wall for my cat to access the plant ledge I have in my great room. They are using the shelves more and even found them sleeping on them since I added the mats to them. I would buy this again and recommend it as well. ... show more

I really like this product! Unlike the clear plastic protectors I’ve used before—where my cats just found new spots to scratch—these let them scratch while still protecting the furniture. i have tried a handful of these DIY furniture protector scratch mats before, and my experiences have always been satisfactory. but so far i think this one is a bit superior and has been my favorite. i like the color and look of this one, and my cat approves of the material for scratching. its easy to cut and has measurements and lines on the plastic backing to make sizing/cutting convenient. the adhesive on this is really good, and it was easy to apply. i have it on 3 chairs in our home right now and its holding up well so far. working great to protect the chairs from further damage, while still allowing my cat to meet his scratching needs. still have about half the roll left, too, so i would say its worth the price of 16 bucks. ... show more

This scratch pad is just what I look for – easy and works. The back has guides so you can cut in straight lines the section you need. I had a little trouble getting the plastic off the back but once I did, it stuck securely to the post on the cat’s tree. He hasn’t used it yet because, cat.

I got this because suddenly my cat of 3 years has decided to sharpen his claws on our recliner. I was able to cut the pieces off to fit the foot rest and arm rest of the recliner and it has adhesive that stays put on the back, so its easy to apply. It's also easy to remove if you need to and doesnt tear up the upholstery. My cat hasn't used it yet. Either way he isn't scratching up the furniture so it is a win/win! ... show more

I've used similar things before, but this product is easy to cut to size, and the backing really adheres well. It's holding up great, and the material seems perfect for scratching.
