Remove the old/faulty ignitor and replaced with the new. Such an easy installation... Removed 2 screws and 4 wires then replaced. An exact fit. Works as good if not better than original

Okay, this is a two part story. I’ve had my Sprirt 700 grill for years (20+). Over the years I’ve replaced almost everything, upgrading as I went. A couple of years ago the I replaced the sparker with an aftermarket unit from HD. The unit snapped in vs bolt down, but otherwise no issues, it worked great. Fast forward and the aftermarket unit failed after only a couple of years. The problem was the little box inside the grill was plain steel, not stainless. So I thought, I’m going with the Weber unit this time. So I bought and installed the Weber unit, the little box was stainless as I suspected but the striker snapped in like the aftermarket one that hadn’t lasted. All good now, right? No the spark was so weak it would only light after multiple tries. Very frustrating, so I saw this aftermarket one that bolts down (preferred) and boasted a strong spark. So here’s the deal, this unit even came with a stainless box. Best of all, it lights the FIRST TIME every time! Winner!

Just got delivery have not installed yet. Literally zero instructions in the box. Thankfully other reviews reference videos to watch so I’ll take a shot at it but really no instructions at all.? That’s kind of lame. Will update review after installation.

Every 4 years I have to replace the igniter box portion only because it rusts out. I find I don't need the other parts because they don't wear out or fail. I've had my Weber Genesis Gold for 20 years, and the igniter metal spark enclosure lasts about 4 years. I live in a northern state and leave my grill covered, outdoors all winter.
