  • Classic Cocoon Halloween Decoration, as Good as Any Others!
The cocoon corpse is a fantastic and traditional Halloween decoration! The material is soft and lightweight, making it easy to compress for storage, though it is a bit fragile, if you treat it cautiously, you shouldn't have any issues. I had a similar one that lasted for years before the material started to break down, and this seems to be of similar quality, so I’m satisfied with it. The foam head and feet add a great touch, making it look more realistic, like a trapped victim in a web. It also has fishing loops on both ends, so you can hang it however you like. If it holds up as long as my last one, I’ll be very happy with it! As good as any others I have seen, can't go wrong! ... show more

  • Super cute and lightweight. Easy to hang. Very delicate.
Super cute decoration. Halloween is my favorite holiday and this year I decided to decorate more indoors since I don’t think we’ll be getting many trick or treaters. I decided to hang this in my living room but didn’t want to put any wholes in my wall or ceiling. It’s light enough that it’s now hanging comfortably with a .5 lb command strip and hook. And doesn’t look like it’s going to fall anytime soon. The wire connected to its feet is very sturdy and hangs well. I will say it does feel like it won’t last very long if you don’t store it well. I could see it being eaten by moths or just getting shredded if not handles well. The webs especially do pull when the latch onto things so be carful. ... show more

  • It's alright and adds to the look
Doesn't come in any box or anything other than a clear bag. Very light weight, it had to reshape the rings to give the body shape again. The head and feet have very cheap plastic to hang it up so I got rid of it and trusted 550 cord. That's so far the only bad I had. Because it's so light, you have to tie the head down too to stop it from blowing in the wind like a kite. The design is great and look works perfectly. ... show more

  • Looks good, assuming your yard has no trees
This thing looked great in my display for a few days...until a wind storm came. It was then covered by every leaf and pine needle and trust me, you can't just pull those things off without destroying it in the process. Again, in the right setting it would work great. But don't hang it under a pine tree! ... show more

  • Big Spook in a small package
This item looks like it would take up a ton of space when you're trying to put it away, but it folds amazingly well into a small box. And knowing that, it looks much better fully stretched out then one would assume for it being hollow (it has a piece in the feet and the head, and the rest of the shape are wire loops). Because it's thinner wire loops, it's easy to mold the arms and legs a bit to get the right 'shape' (or alter it slightly if you want). Putting it up on one of the hooks that sway it randomly, or rotate it slightly, and it jitters really well. If you want to go for a spider theme in your decorations, this is really worth the asking price. ... show more

  • UPDATE: New Version Is Terrible. Low-quality, fell apart after storm.
UPDATE: I purchased a second "72in Cocoon Corpse" in September of 2022 and it is NOT the same as the first one that I bought in 2016. The new one received has almost no shape to it, the foam head is not full-sized and the foam feet are just flat. Sure, it packs down a little smaller than the original but it is NOT worth the downgrade. This past season we had a terrible storm while the Halloween decorations were out. The new corpse is pretty much destroyed while the 2016 corpse still looks and works great. Comparison images are attached. I'm pretty sure the original corpse came in the same, unmarked cardboard box that I currently store it in while the new version came compactly shrink-wrapped. If you order one and receive the shrink-wrapped version I recommend sending it back immediately. Just like all the other reviews say- for the price, this prop is awesome. It packs small and expands to a full-sized "corpse" The webbing does snag on everything, but it can add to the effect with leaves or debris sticking to the web. This prop is mostly hollow, so it's best used in a spot where it isn't backlit... but, then again, a semi-transparent corpse is also pretty cool. Kinda like it 's even more decomposed or "eaten by a giant spider" It is also super lightweight - so much that the wind catches it very easily. I've had this hanging out in some crazy 30mph wind, rain and snow - swinging and flying around - and it's still perfectly intact. I bought it in 2016, so this will be the fifth year using this prop and it still looks great. ... show more

  • Looks great. Better than expected for the price.
Got a fair number of compliments on this guy! The "body" is simply a spiral coil of stiff wire wrapped in green-ish net-like cloth (like that creepy cloth), which is then wrapped in that stretchy polyester spider webbing, but unless it's back-lit you can't really tell. Looks great to me. Two rather minor drawbacks: 1. It's fairly light - meaning it REALLY flies around in any kind of wind (> 10mph). I hung it with its feet just above the bottom edge of an adjoining roof line, and after one windy day I found it laying in the gutter. It had blown completely horizontal and flopped onto the roof itself. Ended up slitting open the netting at the back of the head on putting in a baseball-sized rock. Now it has a nice gentle sway that makes it look alive. 2. As some say, leaves do stick to it. But I only had maybe a dozen, and if you're reasonably careful they come off without too much hassle. Just like a fabric thread you don't just pull them off. I simply snipped the few strands that wouldn't easily come free (before pulling them out too far), brushed the loose end(s) back into the webs, and didn't have a problem. ... show more
