This little boat surprised me. I purchased it as a second kayak that visiting friends could use, so I didn't wish to pay what I paid for mine. However, I wanted something better than the average entry level recreational boat. I wasn't prepared to like it as much as I do: I took it for its maiden voyage, and was impressed by the way it handled. This Pelican has a tapered skeg-like stern, thus it tracks quite true. I gave it my rocking test, and found it to be stable without sacrificing speed or nimbleness. The seat is comfortable and the cockpit has nice features. Now, if I don't feel like loading my 12' kayak onto the roof racks, I can load this into my SUV for a quick afternoon in the water. Granted, it isn't a boat to take on open water - but this little Pelican is a perfect choice for those who want something decent for a reasonable price and stick to paddling on rivers and small lakes.

Wonderful kayak! This is like my 4th kayak. Been kayaking since the early 90s. I love my tourer. I just wanted a decent recreational kayak. This kayak is a performance recreational kayak. Premium. Outstanding tracking. Very stable. Slices through waves like they're nothing. Glides with creek and big river swells. I mean this thing is a serious blast. Light weight! Very, very comfortable. Only negative is dumb drain location. It needs to be centered or in the front/ bow area.

The first and only kayak I've ever owned so I can't compare it to others. I'm 6' 205 lbs 72 years young and had no problem entering or exiting the boat. The ride was smoother than I expected and I never felt I was in any danger of capsizing. I noticed that before the wind kicked up the boat moved smoothly at a brisk pace. After the wind came up it still handled very well despite small crashing whitecaps. I did have to beach twice before I got the seat and foot-pegs adjusted, but once I got it right the ride was very comfortable. The front hatch is really quite small and I'm not sure if I could turn around in the cockpit to access the rear hatch. I'm going to say it's probably as good a beginners kayak as their is and I look forward to going back out in it soon.

I went from a very simple somewhat flat kayak and wanted to get a kayak with more bells and whistles and speed. This kayak has lots of great storage is very comfortable and is much easier to paddle. This is a lightweight, stable and easy paddling kayak. This Kayak does not break the bank but still gives you good quality. I think I am going to love it! I love that itโs a 10 foot kayak with a keel which really helps it to hold its line. I would highly recommend this kayak.

I've had this kayak for about a year now, and have gone out about 25 times or so. This kayak has been a great fit for my needs. Its relatively light, and easy to carry around at a little over 40 lbs. Once in the water it tracks nicely and is pretty stable overall. I've had it in a number of lakes, large and small, and on mostly calm rivers around Pittsburgh and have enjoyed it overall. For the price, I wish that there was a paddle holder on the sides, and a drain plug for the cockpit. Aside from that I have no complaints. I go out about once a week and take a lot of pictures and this has met my needs.

We liked the first one so much we bought a second. This model we purchased after having a flatter bottom Pelican kayaks. The model cuts through the water and glides so much nicer. Less effort for the wife to keep up. The kayak is well built, has a bulk head behind the seat that does not allow water to get in from the seat area. The stability is as expected for a V hull design. The bottle holder mounted to the side fits typical water bottle and insulated bottles without falling out. Seat is comfortable and adjusts to where we prefer. There is no paddle holder but we added to the side. We would recommend this kayak to others
