These have been a game changer for skiing! I don't know why my circulation is getting so bad, but over the past few seasons I have really been struggling with cold feet when I ski. I am a pretty regular skier and hit the mountain whenever possible. These have been a game changer for me on cold days. They are a little thicker than I typically like my ski socks to be, so if boots are tight be aware. But I love that I can adjust them throughout the ski session so if I get super warm I can turn them off and avoid sweating and I can turn them up when the winds pick up. I have been afraid to use the washer so just hand wash them and they have lasted a good 20 wears over the last season. Looking forward to using them more over the upcoming season! ... show more

These came neatly packaged and included one pair of socks, one pair of batteries, one charger and instructions. The specifications did not say what material the socks were made out of but they are soft, thick and warm even without heat. They are higher than most heated socks I've seen about 2 inches below the my knee. They are a little big for my size 8 foot however fit perfectly over my pants and under my boots. The battery was heavy at first and a little awkward. The heating wire under the soul of my foot took getting used to but quickly adjusted. I followed the extra tip given to make the socks work more efficiently (click the highest setting let it work for about 15 to 20 minutes and immediately switch to lowest setting to save more battery life). I wear these heated socks under my riding/work boots. Being at a barn in New England it can be cold and very windy. I am usually out for four plus hours at a time and these keep my feet very warm and they don't fall down as I work. ... show more

I got these socks a few days ago. My feet get cold easily, and I thought they could be especially good when I have to be outdoors in the cold for extended periods. What I like: - Operation is pretty straightforward. It is easy to charge the batteries, put the batteries in the socks, and operate the control (button on sock). - The socks are comfortable, even with heat off. They are pretty thick and have the heating element embedded in the front half of the foot. The top slides down a little, but not annoyingly so. The size L fit me perfectly (US men size 12). - They are warm. I wore one around all afternoon with the heat on high (red). For a control, on my other foot, I just wore a normal, old cotton sock. I thought that being indoors with the electric sock heat on high my foot would get hot, but it was just comfortably warm. I then went for a long walk in the cold (45 degrees F), still with the sock on high. It stayed comfortably warm, but only a bit warmer than my other foot. I may update this as I use them more. A couple things I hope to learn are how they do when I'm just sitting out in the cold for an extended period of time and how they hold up after going through the laundry multiple times. Update: I originally questioned whether these are significantly warmer than a good (non-electric) wool sock. That might be true if your feet are warm to start with, but maybe not if your feet are cold to start with. I am sitting here on a very cold day, and even though I am inside, I'm pretty chilly including my feet. I put on one of these socks and it feels really good. Takes the chill off. Very thick and heavy duty socks. Very easy to use and will last between 6-8 hours on mid level. Batteries are easy to charge and you can just take them out of the socks and throw them in the washer.

I was really looking forward to having these as I am an avid skier. I purchased a pair of heated gloves similar to these and absolutely love them. However these socks are nothing like that. It has a wall charger that charges both batteries at the same time. The batteries are inserted in a zippered pocket at the upper part of the sock. For me the socks came up mid calf but I have thick caps I was hoping they'd come up a little higher. I wore these socks for 20 minutes on the highest setting (red) and they barely got warm. I kept them on red (as the instructions suggested) the entire time. I tried cycling through the settings and saw the button change color but noticed no difference in the sock heat. You can see in the third photograph, the thickness of the sock and where they wrap around the foot. I can feel the heating element (not uncomfortably) but I know it's there and it barely got warm. I was really disappointed. At this price I expected so much more; these socks just don't deliver . Major fail. ... show more
