I’ve been very happy with the quality of this weed barrier fabric. It is a good heavy weight, durable, and should last for a number of years. The staples included with the fabric are also a good heavy weight of metal, and will also last for sometime. I will say that there were not enough of the staples to properly hold down the amount of fabric in the package. I ordered this weed barrier use on a hillside where I was installing a new hedge row. The fabric installed easily, and at 100 feet, was the perfect length for such a job. It has functioned effectively to prevent weeds from growing in this new garden bed, and has remained stable and in place on the hillside. For the price being asked for this weed barrier fabric, I find it to be a good value for the cost. I have since ordered another set to install in the vegetable garden. Very happy with this product.

This came out with such a strong smell I thought we had busted a gas pipe. Do not use it anywhere enclosed or you may regret it. That aside, it is good enough quality for my needs. I used it under some landscape river rocks to keep them out of the dirt. It cut easily enough with scissors, but if you don't get a good clean cut it will fray. The landscape staples it came with were very useful and enough to hold the ends down but we needed more for the edges. Overall a good quality cloth and good value, just be ware of the smell!

I'm really impressed with the durability of this woven polypropylene in my simple application beneath some mulch along a fence with one end held in place by the retaining wall cap stones! I thought for this price it would be thin, easy to stretch or prone to tearing/separating but even with some cuts there was only minor unraveling and some spots were stretched over rough concrete edges around fence posts and even stepping on it didn't tear! I used a simple utility scissors to cut the fabric, I think a knife would be too difficult grabbing on individual strands. Usually this kind of material is used beneath non-permeable or semi-permeable hardscapes, like driveways or paver patios, and considered a geotextile fabric. What I do know is it will hold up way better than a 'premium' landscape fabric I had previously applied that ripped even during application. I really liked that this was folded too! mine came in two 50ft long strips that were folded and that was WAY EASIER to apply than a roll since I could lay out the length then unfold the edge beneath the fence. I used about 36ft of one roll for my this project and the next project will be applying this beneath a rubber mulch bed around a playset! One thing to note, this comes with some pretty large landscape staples but only 10 are included so you'll have to get a box of those - I used the standard 4" staples for my project and they were able to puncture this fabric with some strong pressure beneath my hand - with the woven design I'm thinking it won't be as prone to ripping as other fabrics are at the staples.

This is a standard woven weed barrier fabric in the lighter “heavy-duty” category. At 3.2 oz, it strikes a balance between being easy to work with and durable enough for typical garden use. It is not the thickest option on the market, but it is far from flimsy. I have used it to block weeds around a small fence. It works perfectly and has held up over time. The size is generous, and the roll format is easy to manage. It cuts cleanly with scissors, and the guideline lines are actually helpful for spacing plants or keeping things straight. The included stakes are a nice add-on, though you will likely need more if you are covering a larger area. Water permeability seems appropriate for garden beds. It allows water through without pooling on top, while still suppressing most weed growth when properly installed and covered. Like all fabrics in this category, it works best when paired with mulch or gravel rather than left exposed. The listing leans a bit into big claims like “99.8% light blockage” and broad construction use. In practice, this is best suited for flower beds, garden paths, and similar projects. It can handle light foot traffic, but is not ideal for heavy traffic. The half-fold packaging is noticeable when you first unroll it, but it relaxes as you work with it. I have a garden area that I’m trying to kill out all the weeds before I build raised beds in the area without using any chemicals and it seems to be working. I got two folded 4x50 pieces which worked great as my garden space is 42 feet long so it gave me enough to also snuff out four feet on each end also. The 10 u-shaped staples were great but I had to use some rocks to hold it down as it isn’t quite enough. 3.2 oz is thin but definitely not as thin as the non-woven kind of weed blocker you can get. I am not planting anything in the middle of this fabric but if you do definitely seal it with a lighter to prevent fraying.
