Description

We call this series “I don’t read music” since we are targeting beginners of all ages: children, teens, parents, grandparents.Folk music traditionally is not learned from sheet music or notes. Instead, it is learned by repetition and from being passed from generation to generation. We believe in this method of teaching, which is easier and more enjoyable. This book includes 63 familiar and easy-to-play folk songs and melodies. Each song here is written with color circles and letter notes inside. Most songs have been simplified and transposed for one octave. . Since this book is aimed at the absolute beginner without any knowledge of reading music, we do not use here the classical music staff and do not show the note duration. You can experiment with the duration on your own.Attention: This learning sheet music will be most useful for the bell set with the color scheme in the picture:C = red, D = orange, E = yellow, F = green, G = light blue, A = blue, B = violet, C8 = red.If you have very little music experience, playing by note can be difficult. It is easier to follow color-coded circles with note letters. By simply following the color circles, you will sound like an experienced musician. This songbook uses the Chroma-Notes Colored Music System, popular in the US.We call this series “I don’t read music” since we are targeting beginners of all ages: children, teens, parents, and grandparents. Folk music traditionally is not learned from sheet music or notes. Instead, it is learned by repetition and through being passed from generation to generation. We believe in this method of teaching, which is easier and more enjoyable. The simple method of using circles as an aid allows the flexibility that existed in traditional ways of teaching. We recommend finding each of these songs on YouTube and listening to the rhythm before beginning to play. Our sheet music is only a guide. The most important thing is to listen and repeat the recordings.Contents:Alphabet Song A Hunting We Will Go A Sailor Went to Sea Acka Backa Are You Sleeping? “This book is amazing for beginners! The color-coded notes make it super easy to play songs on bells or xylophone, even if you don’t read music. The songs are simple, fun, and perfect for kids. Great quality and very helpful for music therapy sessions!”

  • Easy color coded note system
Format: Paperback
There don’t seem to be many kids song books available with color coded notes to use to play the desk bells. My grandchildren can easily play the songs following the easy color coded notes system. This was a good find.

  • Great for Music Activities
Format: Paperback
I was able to easily follow along the songs in the book so I believe my clients will be able to follow easily with their desk bells to play along. There are no note durations which gives them creative liberties as to how the melody rhythms go. It’s great for music activities. The only problem I noticed was while following along a song, there was a colored letter that didn’t correspond as it should’ve (e.g., letter G is always light blue and corresponds with light blue but for one song, the letter G is labeled as Red which could be confusing to a student trying to follow along and play on their desk bells) ... show more

Easy to use for kids that can't read! The color matching notes have made this the perfect way for my kids to actually play songs on their instruments instead of the normal randomized banging!
