  • Better than hakko and Weller?! Do what?
Color: Orange
Wow! This is by far the best pencil iron I've ever used, WHEN CONSIDERING PRICE. It's dirt cheap, heats quickly, and maintains temperature fairly well. The temp adjust dial isn't especially accurate, but it get the job done fine. The instructions are on another level. Five minutes of reading and I know more about tip care, iron maintenance, and tip degradation than my father did, and he wired F16s back in the day. Along with the iron, you get a small but excellent stand, big chunk of rosin,10 feet of solder (unknown composition though), and a handful of different tips. My only complaint, and it may be a big one for some people, is that the retaining rings (holds body/heating element to the handle) really suck. The metal is thin and weak, and the threads are just nasty, unless you enjoy cross threading. I expect the rings to fail after switching tips a few more times, but I'm fairly certain JB Weld and some thin nuts will fix the issue. No problem for me, maybe for you, though. I'm gushing. This iron was a very pleasant surprise. It's a great backup for anyone, and perfect for a first iron, or for general electrical work around the house. Well done, company and factory! ... show more

  • Good soldering iron for beginners
Color: Orange
I’m not a professional when it comes to soldering, but I wanted to buy a soldering iron to try some small electronics repairs and projects. This one turned out to be a good choice for someone like me who is just starting. One thing I really liked is that it comes with useful accessories like solder wire and flux, so you don’t have to buy those separately. Since I only plan to use it occasionally, it’s nice that everything comes in the kit and I don’t need large quantities of extra supplies. The size is good and it feels easy to handle, especially for beginners. From my perspective as someone with little experience, it does a perfectly acceptable job for basic soldering tasks. Overall, I think it’s a good purchase for anyone who wants to start learning or only needs a soldering iron from time to time. I just hope it lasts well over time so I can keep using it whenever I need it. I hope my experience helps someone who is considering this product ... show more

  • Nice soldering kit, good price
Color: Orange
This is my first soldering iron. It is nice that this kit comes with everything that you need to get started. I would have given it five stars except for, the solder and flux are separate. For a beginner it is much easier to use solder wire that incorporates the flux in the wire. The stand for the iron is also small and the iron can easily fall off of it. The iron works fine. The temperature adjustment is nice. I have already repaired several wires that our puppy chewed. This is a nice inexpensive soldering iron that will do what is needed. ... show more

  • Solid budget iron for led projects
Color: Orange
I’ve been using this 60W adjustable soldering iron kit mainly for wiring up LED strip lighting and chaining terminals together for random house and hobby projects, and it honestly does the job really well for the price. It heats up fast enough, the temp control is “good enough” once you learn where you like it, and the different tips are handy for everything from tiny pads on LED strips to slightly chunkier joints. For basic electronics and wire work, I haven’t really felt like I needed anything more powerful or fancy. Biggest thing I learned: if you don’t baby the tip a little, it goes downhill quick. You really have to keep it tinned, wipe it on the sponge or brass wool, and not leave it sitting on full blast forever or it’ll oxidize and feel like it suddenly got “worse”. Once I started taking care of the tip properly it’s been super consistent. The little stand it comes with is… fine, not amazing. It works, but it’s a bit lightweight and feels kinda cheap, same for the included solder which is usable but not great, I swapped to my own roll pretty quick. Overall, for a low-cost kit, I’m pretty happy with the value. It’s not a pro soldering station and the temperature markings aren’t super precise, but for LED strips, small repairs, and hobby stuff, it’s more than enough and doesn’t feel like a toy. If you’re just getting into soldering or only do it occasionally, this is a solid starter setup that wont murder your wallet. ... show more

  • Complete and Reliable Soldering Kit for Small Repairs
Color: Orange
I’ve been using this temperature-adjustable soldering iron kit for a few days, and it has been a very practical tool for quick electronics repairs and small DIY projects. The iron heats up fast, and the temperature control is accurate enough for most hobby-level work. I used it to fix a cable, repair a small PCB, and attach new connectors, and it handled all of that without any issues. The kit includes multiple tips, solder wire, tweezers, a stand, and a carrying case, which makes it easy to keep everything organized. The accessories are basic, but functional, and the case is a nice bonus if you move your tools around or keep them in a drawer. For longer sessions, the handle can get a bit warm, but nothing uncomfortable. The stand is lightweight, so it works best on a flat, stable surface. Pros • Heats up quickly and temperature adjusts easily • Comes with multiple tips and useful accessories • Great kit for beginners or small home repairs • Handy carrying case keeps everything organized Cons • Stand feels a bit light • Handle warms up during extended use Bottom line: a very solid starter kit for electronics repairs and DIY tasks. Great value for the price. ... show more

  • Cheap
Color: Orange
If you just need a cheap solder iron to make a quick repair, then this may work. But if you plan on making several solder connections and want a tool that will be reliable and last for years, then I recommend paying extra for a solder station that has PID temperature control stability. This pen will not recover from thermal shock when touching a cold wire and it will be very frustrating to work with. You will need to keep the tip very clean to get any solder to melt. It's going to be frustrating for beginners that dont know hot to solder efficiently using lead wire and flux and a tip cleaner. The on/off switch does pop off very easily. It's very cheaply made and does not hold temps well. ... show more
