Tate from customer services has been helping me. They have been extremely responsive and have been helping me with technical difficulties. My current vent is 7 inches and I had to improvise a reducer to fit the 5 inch circular output on top of this hood. The hood I received had some bent sheet metal damage around the vent and damaged grease filters. Luckily, customer service is sending me a replacement. Otherwise, the hood is beautiful and low profile. The fan also seems to be fairly quiet. I’ll add to this review when I install and start using the hood. Update: I have now installed the hood and it’s working well so far. The LED lights are bright enough that I don’t need to really have kitchen lights to see food cooking. As you can see, I’ve an Island range and have the hood vent in a false ceiling as opposed to under cabinets. Hood is functional in this usage as well. The media could not be loaded. We needed a ventless range hood for our new kitchen. It was hard to find one with the style I liked and also a truly ventless hood since we didn’t want to compromise the storage area in the cabinet above. I found this model on Amazon and it worked perfectly. The light is nice and bright when you are cooking. Also, I like the lights being toward the back of the unit so it illuminates the whole range and doesn’t cause shadows when you’re working. The fan has 3 speeds, as shown in the video. The highest is very powerful but also quiet which is a huge plus. All in all, I’m very pleased with our purchase and would definitely recommend it. ... show more

Overall, pleased with the product at this price point. Installed it in a custom DIY range hood so installation was not all "that easy" :-) . While this is touted as 'upgraded' I would say the the stainless steel sheet metal is quite thin in my opinion (I did not measure) - this makes it light, but also shows deformations quite easily. The switches on the bottom of the unit- where my design required them, are mechanical and not environmentally sealed- I wonder if water vapor/oils from the cooktop will cause corrosion/failure with them in the long term ? The two lights are fine, there is one setting 'on' - they're not adjustable for brightness. The blower fan volume is not objectionable especially on the lower settings. The media could not be loaded. I like the way it looks and the suction strength. At first I didn't think the suction was that good, so I put a pot of water on the stove and let it boil hard. The steam went into the hood. Then, to see if the charcoal filter did anything, I used a skillet with a little oil and the burner on high until it smoked. In the video, you see what I saw, which was no smoke coming out the vent. That's the main thing I was hoping for. I like that the metal filters are flush with the bottom and cover most of the bottom, so there is no metal hard to reach that would require appearance cleaning. I guess it will get dirty inside. The metal filters are easy to remove, as are the charcoal filters. The manual recommends changing the filters every 6 months. I don't think that will be necessary given the small amount of time I will actually use it. However, a set of the charcoal filters is about $50. Regarding installation, the top of the unit is 13.25" deep and my cabinet is 12". So, one set of mounting holes was too far forward. The other set in the back was visible but unreachable because they were blocked by metal that the filters rest on. So, I just drilled holes that would work for me. That meant I needed someone to hold help me put it up because the slotted holes were either unreachable or in the wrong place for my cabinet. I've seen other comments about the lights being at the back. I also noticed fingerprints on the stainless steel. Finally, it comes with a connected cord and a plug. My old hood was direct wired. I cut the plug off and threaded the cord up through the bottom of the cabinet to connect it to power. ... show more

Works as designed and price is right for 600 CFM. Did not want brand name on product. Two features that are lacking is light only has one brightness so can't use as a night light and lights mounted at back of unit so the light "washes" tile backsplash and makes tile color look uneven compared to rest of backsplash. Before I bought, I read carefully all the information. I am satisfied with the suction levels and lights. And I like the choice buttons suction levels and lights as those looks simple and sturdy when I press. The height of range under the cabinet is perfect, it is not narrow or not high. Range gives enough space when cooking. The light has 2 areas right and left, very bright. The function of suction has 3 choices with perfect and good noise level. I needed to check electricity line before installing in order to make connect perfect. It would be more perfect if there is a choice of lighting.
