I’ve researched fire proof safes pretty extensively. I know the best placement in a house is by a fireplace or cement wall as cement is the best fire protection you can get. Next time you see a burnt down house it’s always the cement foundation and chimney/ fireplace that’s left standing. Anyway it might be very possible to make your own excellent fire proof safe by buying an average safe then adding this material in. The fire proof rating is better than most fire proof safes on the market. If you go this direction which I have at least make sure the safe is of sound construction and a good locking mechanism. ... show more
