Like an earlier reviewer mentioned, I also experienced some scratching on the metal uprights due to the contents shifting in the packaging during handling. I will touch this up with some black paint and it won't bother me, especially since I am using it in a garage and it will get scratched again eventually. Also, there were two machined holes in the metal uprights that did not line up correctly with the pre-drilled holes for one of the two supporting cross-members in the back of the unit. However, I don't think this was critical to my intended usage for the shelf unit, as it still seemed plenty sturdy without one of the cross-members. I could tinker with the holes in the wooden cross member to get it to fit, but not concerned about it for now.

Over all, very happy with this purchase. It is capable of holding some of my heavier equipment, construction was fairly easy (however the wrench was missing from the parts bag) the price was reasonable.

This four tier audio shelf is exactly what I needed for my turntable and receiver equipment. The shelf is a very sturdy unit and, of course could be used for many things other than just audio equipment, but that is precisely why I wanted it. It has served my purpose very well The assembly is very simple and comes with all of the tools needed. Putting this together only took around 25 minutes, but to be fair I do this sort of thing almost every day. Still, even for the occasional furniture builder it should be quite easy and honestly shouldn’t take more than the round 45 minutes. This is a great addition for my audio equipment and I definitely would recommend it for anyone, audio equipment, or not.

This rack arrived scratched and poorly painted (see pictures). The metal sides are so lightweight, I wouldn’t trust them to hold much of anything. The inserts for the shelves that you screw into are some form of the cheapest plastic known to man. They don’t even hold tension when you try to screw the bolts in. I’m completely serious when I say do not waste your time with this. I paid $300 with tax and it’s not worth 1/4th of that. This is probably one of the worst purchases I’ve made on Amazon. Thankfully they have a reasonable return policy

This product achieves its end goal, which is to separate your audio equipment from the floor, but the construction is sub-par. - The welds on the steel bars were put there by a teenager. - The plastic plugs in the ends of the square tubing don't fit well. - The paint on the metal frame scratches as soon as your raise your voice in its vicinity. - The bolts that hold the shelves to the metal frame do so by threading into plastic caps you insert into the wood, which I can only describe as being the unruly 2nd cousins of drywall anchors. - The plastic anchors combined with the flimsy steel frame means that you cannot tighten the bolts without deforming the steel or harming the wood, and the end result is a shelving unit that isn't tight and has some sway and would really benefit from cross bracing. In the end, I would say that this unit should be less expensive than it is and I wouldn't purchase this again.
