  • Best saw ever
I’ve seen these saws a lot on my diy shows and I wanted to try one. So I had some wood and some logs I wanted to saw the wood was a 1x8, and the log was probably a 6 inch diameter. The saw that I bought this one is small. It’s only 6 inches long. But the price was right. It cut through those perfectly. I was so amazed I have hand saws that are still almost new and I can’t get them to work like this all works amazing love it and when it gets all dull and I can’t use it anymore I’ll get another one ... show more

  • Wish I found it sooner
Finally got around to using this. This blade feels like quality. The cuts feel nice and accurate and easy to use. I may buy a few more since the price is great. Also this can be used in many situations but may not last forever. Like I said I’d like to buy many more just in case because this tool is awesome and just my size! ... show more

  • For fast and straight cuts
Excellent tool so far, with the first soft and hard woods cuts, very precise and fast cuts. I recommend it. I will order a longer one for bigger pieces.

  • Versatile and sharp - a nice addition to the tool kit
I’ve spent some time putting this Japanese-style pull saw through its paces, and overall, I’m quite pleased with it. While it might not be the absolute "best of breed" compared to high-end boutique saws, it is a high-value tool that has earned a permanent spot in my kit and will see plenty of action across various projects. Blade and Performance This is a generously sized saw with a comfortable grip that makes extended use easy on the hands. The double-edged blade is impressively sharp right out of the box. It features 11 TPI (teeth per inch) on one side and 17 TPI on the other. While the finer side is ostensibly for softwoods like pine and the 11 TPI for hardwoods, I found that both sides performed exceptionally well across a range of materials, including hardwood, softwood, and even PVC pipe (both Schedule 40 and tubular). Tooth Design The tooth pattern is a classic Yokobiki (crosscut) design. The teeth are sharpened with alternating bevels intended to score the wood, which results in a remarkably smooth and clean cut. This pattern is highly efficient at clearing sawdust to both sides, allowing for very quick cuts without the blade binding. Flexibility and Precision The blade feels sturdy, but it occupies a middle ground in terms of flexibility. It isn’t quite as flexible as the dedicated dovetail or flush-cut saws I own. While you can certainly use it for flush-cutting, it requires a bit more effort to keep it pressed against the surface. Because the blade is slightly thicker and less flexible than a specialized joinery saw, I found it a bit more challenging to use for high-precision tasks like hand-cut dovetail joints. Construction The build quality is solid, though there is one design trade-off to note: it is not a full-tang saw. The blade inserts about two inches into the handle and is secured by two rivets. While this holds the blade securely enough for most tasks, there is a tiny amount of play. For general DIY use and standard carpentry, this won’t be an issue, but it’s something to keep in mind if you are working on fine furniture where extreme precision is the priority. Final Verdict This is a very nice, useful product and an excellent value for the price. It’s a versatile workhorse for the workshop—just be sure to use it for the right applications. If you need a sharp, reliable pull saw for general cutting and home projects, this is a great choice. ... show more
