  • great ice retention, solid build quality and value for money. music festival tested.
Functionally, this thing is just as good as the more expensive rotomolded coolers. It does exactly the same thing -- keep cold items cold in hot temps. It's a heavy item when loaded up but won't make your wallet lighter than it should be. You can pay a few hundred more for a more well-known name, but at more than double the current price. I took this thing to a three day music festival. Actually five days since we drove up the night before and stayed later the last day to swim in the river. I also had a non-rotomolded Rtic and a solf side insulated grocery bag. Before loading it up, I pre-cooled it and used cookie pans to make block ice. I also had heavy duty ice packs. Pre-cooling is critical to ice retention, as are the block ice and ice packs. The block ice goes on the very bottom. The ice packs go on the sides. Any frozen food should be the first layer. Then layer loose ice from a hag. Then food/drinks. Then another layer of loose ice. You can put another ice pack in the top with the included cargo net. Use a 2 to 1 food/drinks to ice ratio. Anyway i followed these instructions and hauled the cooler off to the festival which was outdoors with temps rtanging from 60F at night to 90+ during the day. The cooler was mainly kept in the shade and I actually put all the food in this one and the drinks in the Rtic. The reason to separate the food and drinks is so you dont jeep opening and closing the cooler. After a day and a half, this coler was still frosty. The block ice formed a mini glacier on the bottom of the cooler. The ice closest to the surface melted a little bit, but not nearly as much as the Rtic. I topped it off with fresh ice after two days but this may have been unnecessary. The Rtic's ice was more melted and the soft side bag was watery. I ended up not even using half of the second bag and giving the rest to a fellow camper. It really only needed a top off, and maybe not even that. There were still big chunks of ice on day 5, while the other coolers had far less ice retention. So this thing does what they say as far as ice retention. For best results, pre-cool and use block ice and ice packs. You could definitely get 6 days out of this if you arent openign and closing it all the time, and you are keeping frozen items in it. What's also nice about this is the wheels. It gets heavy when loaded. Our campsite was down on a rocky beach, and the wheels were great to have for when we did have to move it. It's also quite sturdy and can double as a bench or camping table. The handle works well and isn't flimsy. I also like the fact it came with accessories like the top netting, a basket for dry goods, and a divider/cutting board. With some other coolers, you have to buy all that stuff extra. it would be nice if the divider was itself freezable. But not having to pay extra for that was awesome. The size, 55l, was perfect for two people for 4-5 days (with a separate cooler for drinks and another for miscellaneous items and non-perishables). You maximize your ice retention by not keeping everything in one cooler that will be opened and closed a lot. And you can assign the lesser cooler to beverage duty, because drinks won't spoil and stay cold even when ice becomes sloshy. Food, on the other hand, will be rendered useless if it ends up in a pool of water. There aren't too many cons here as this is a great cooler, expecially for multi day trips. It might be overkill for a simple day at the beach or lake. But when you need serious ice retention, this is a go-to. It will of course work for a simple beach day, and you can put food in one side with ice packs and use the divider to put drinks in the other side with loose ice and ice blocks. The integrated bottle opener is nice too. Also the wheels give it an advantage over non-wheeled coolers when full. What this means is one person can move the cooler when full, and it can roll over almost any terrain. I did slightly prefer the Rtic's rubber latches. But these do lock tight and created a seal, even if they are a bit fiddly. The drain plug works well too and has a keeper. The other potential con is that it's not cheap. Rotomolding is an expensive and time-consuming process. But in this case, you do get what you pay for, without the cooler being overpriced. It outperformed the Rtic, which cost half as much, by a considerable margin. (The Rtic or a similar quality cooler, would be fine for 1-2 days in non-heatwave conditions. But if you're in the backcountry and can't replenish your ice, retention matters, big time. ) Not having to replenish your ice so frequently saves money in the long term. So, the price is really only a con if it's outside of your budget. On the other hand, if you buy this, you wont need to upgrade down the line because you cheaped it out and got a cooler with poor ice retention, becoming the laughing stock of your camping crew. I'm really not sure if there's any real benefit to the more expensive name brand as this cooler has outstanding build quality and does all the things you'd want a serious cooler to do. Bottom line is, yes, i would buy this again, especially if they made it in more colors. The red is nice, but coolers should stay away from heat-retaining colors like dark blue and black. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Convenient Cooler for Outdoor Use Sturdy and Convenient Cooler for Outdoor Use
Color: Navy Blue
I recently purchased this cooler for our family camping trips and outdoor adventures, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. From its durable construction to its convenient features, this cooler has exceeded my expectations in every way. Firstly, the build quality of this cooler is top-notch. The materials feel sturdy and durable. When we were camping in the valley, even if the road was rough, the wheels were still intact. The insulated box was filled with ice cubes and drinks, and it was still very easy to tow. One of the standout features of this cooler is its impressive insulation. Even on scorching hot days, about 90 ℉. It manages to keep our drinks and food items cold for more 3 days. Regarding the 6-day keep ice protection period described, I will continue to test it later. I also appreciate the thoughtful design details that enhance its usability. The big wheels save me a lot of energy and it’s easy to pull! The integrated cup holders on the lid are a convenient addition for keeping drinks within reach. Additionally, the drainage plug makes cleaning up a breeze after each use. The last and most important point, there are all kinds of accessories, no need to waste time finding basket, divider and mesh bags to match. Prefer the ice bags, we don't have a commercial ice maker to make enough ice to fill the cooler, the attached ice packs did it, cool! Overall, I highly recommend this cooler to anyone in need of a reliable and versatile option for their outdoor adventures. It's durable, well-insulated, and packed with convenient features that make it a must-have for any outdoor enthusiast. Pros: · Sturdy and durable · Keep ice long days · Easy to pull · Saved money to purchase accessories · Convenient design · Versatile for various outdoor activities Cons: It is a bit heavy. ... show more

  • It’s a big cooler
Color: Purple
We love this cooler. It’s big and bulky but that’s what we wanted for use on the boat and at the beach. It keeps drinks cold and ice holds up pretty well. It’s nice to have the removable tray for food that I don’t want to get wet. The 100 ice pack bags were a nice addition to the cooler, as well as the cutting board/divider. We use all of it! The drain cuts into the cab stacking space but it’s not a deal breaker, just seems unnecessary. It is also very heavy when loaded up. One thing I would change is - the handle needs extension options for easier pulling ... show more

  • NOT 55qts. 40 at best.
Ok. Here's the deal. It's a good little cooler. So much easier to load and move around than my non-wheeled one. It really does stay cold. I'm very pleased with it's cold retention. The addition of wheels are a total game changer for serious campers. However: the size is NOT 55qts. The retro style steel belted Coleman coolers are listed as 54 qt. They are huge inside compared to this cooler. I had to really scale back what I can effectively take to camp because of the size difference. With my 2 frozen jugs of water, I am limited to roughly 1/2 the cooler storage space. In winter I should be able to bring just 1 jug of ice. Which will greatly increase my storage space. But the summer months require more ice for my 6+ day camp missions. I stack the ice jugs on their sides. Since this cooler is too short for me to stand them up. The top jug is the one that melts completely while the bottom jug stays mostly frozen. By the time I hit the 7th day, it was only 1/2 frozen. That was with 2 days in 100 degree temps and then dropping down to 90 and then 70s for the rest of the trip. Kept cooler out of direct sunlight. In hindsight I dont know if I should have thrown more $ at getting a name brand cooler. I do appreciate the size of this one as it is almost the exact same outer size of my old steel belted Coleman. I love the color. Love the rubberized wheels. Love the handle shape. The weight isnt too bad either. The Arizona Ice packs I ordered are far too large to be useful for long term use in this size cooler. My camp style is a lot different than most. I am out for at least a week at a time. I try to not have to go to a store in the middle of camping. Adventures take me into the mountains. I disperse camp. I need my cooler to stay cold for a minimum of 6 days. I prechill the cooler for 24 hrs before packing it up. I make sure I freeze what I can and eat what thaws first. I do take a 2nd cooler (my Coleman) for drinks and other items I access more often thru out the day. It isn't as important to keep at food safe temps. My goal is for my food cooler to stay cold as long as possible. This cooler stays cold. I appreciate that. I do wish that they were honest about the listing. I used a tape measure to measure and try to get an idea of internal size. But listing this as 55qts is a flat out lie. Ultimately it is my fault for not believing my gut that it would be quite a bit smaller than I was wanting. So I am not going to punish the item with a worse star rating. The cooler works well. Built well. It will do it's job. But it is small inside. ... show more

  • Great ice/temp retention and comes with accessories
Color: Navy Blue
The cooler design is great since it comes with the accessories (basket, cutting board also serves as a divider, cargo net, & fillable ice packs). With the design of the handles and wheels, it is easy to move & drain. I used frozen water bottles and thick ice retention ziplock bags in the cooler. At the end of Day 3, I still had ice in the bag and in the water bottles with high use of opening & closing the cooler. A great value for the price, especially when you compare with Yeti or Rtic brands where you have to purchase all accessories separately. EDIT: I found 2 design flaws. 1. The cargo net is held on by peel & stick velcro. Any weight in the cargo net pulls the adhesive strips off the lid. 2. A nut and bolt came loose on one tire so we removed the axle until we could get to a hardware store. The bolt is very short. I expected the bolt to have a deeper opening in the axle for longer wear and tear. ... show more

  • Great cooler! Beautifully designed and colors and ice keeps for a long time.
Color: Navy Blue
I love the color of this cooler. The wheels are smooth when rolling and the handle makes it super easy to transport. I love that it comes with a cutting board to make it easy to cut limes or whatever you want for drinks or food. I love that the cutting board doubles as a divider for the cooler. Kids drinks in one spot and food or adult drinks in the other side. The net is great for storing Koozies. The grate is awesome for keeping food cold but not getting wet and soggy from the Ice. It’s got two cup holders on the top and a ruler to measure fish when you catch them. The extra ice packs are an added bonus. We took this to the lake and it kept our drinks cold and there was still plenty of ice after two days when I finally emptied the cooler. Don’t hesitate to get this cooler. I’m very happy and will be recommending to everyone! ... show more

  • Retains ice great. Perfect for the beach Retains ice great. Perfect for the beach
This is a great cooler. I just got back from a vacation to Myrtle Beach and I couldn’t be happier with this cooler. It has plenty of storage for drinks and I love the divider/cutting board as well as the basket. I had to transport the cooler on my roof rack and after 24+ hours of being out in the heat and sun it still had a lot of ice unmelted inside. The wheels and handle also made it super easy to wheel through the beach sand. I also didn’t think the cooler is overly heavy like some other ones. It opens and closes easily with the latching system too. The only issue I have is that the netting doesn’t come attached and the glue on the Velcro attachment did not stick for me and I wasn’t able to attach it ... show more
