I do a lot of drawing with colored pencils, and I go through the white and black ones considerably faster than the other colors. I prefer oil based colored pencils, so I hoped these would work well with the ones I already have. I just got these, so I gave them a try. I like the black one. The pigment has good intensity, and it is pretty easy to get a nice saturation, but it also is easy to make more grey tones by using less pressure. The white is not as intense. Most white colored pencils are not very opaque, but this one seems even wimpier than average. I also found that if I use much pressure when applying color with either of these, I get crumbs appearing all over the paper. Crumbs are a problem because they are loose bits of color that can end up where you do not want them, and if they get rubbed, they can make stray marks. Even if you brush them off, if they get on surfaces or your clothing, they can create stains.
