We raise our own poultry, beef, and pork. We also garden. We had a large horizontal freezer, and an upright freezer, but we exceeded their capacity. We purchased two of these freezers. I had to order a liftgate delivery through Amazon, which cost extra. They arrived in impressively built, wooden crates. I could not move one by hand. I removed the sides and tops. It required a hammer, and some effort. The freezers sit on a custom pallet, with the castors inset the pallet. I had a bit of fun, getting each out of, and off of the pallets. The freezers are very heavy. Once they are sitting on their castors, they are easy to move. I plugged them in, set the temperature, and that's it. They have worked perfectly for months now. I tried to buy a freezer about six month ago at a time which coincidently coincided with the corona scam. Freezers were not to be found ANYWHERE. Whether the problem was due to a supply problem or panic buying, or both, I'm not sure. I prefer to buy appliances and such high-cost items where I can inspect them first but circumstances created a crisis. I had a processed steer to be delivered shortly and needed someplace to put it. I checked Amazon and discovered this commercial grade double wide freezer. I've owned this freezer for about four months. I want this review to be fair so I'll start off with it's good features. The Good The unit is mounted on lockable castors and, despite being very heavy, is easy to move. It chills rapidly. It was sub-zero within a short time after plugging it in. Tech support is outstanding. The issues I've had with the freezer were addressed within minutes after I send an email to the vendor (NOT Amazon) about it. Their advice was useful and friendly. Would I recommend you to buy it? Absolutely positively. It has been a good freezer. So far. Now The Bad. To be honest, none of the unpleasantness I've experienced with this freezer has had anything at all to do with the manufacturer or the vendor. They were helpful every which way they could. First problem. The freight delivery service refused to deliver to my location. I live WAY out in the country. The freight service stated they only had 18-wheelers and was not confident they could successfully egress from where I lived. They maintained this position despite my pointing out that 18-wheelers have delivered freight to me or my neighbors on numerous occasion. No matter. I tried to rent a truck with a hydraulic lift to fetch the unit myself but was unable to locate an available truck. I finally took my utility trailer to the depot where the freezer was waiting. Unfortunately, the freezer had been speared through by a forklift. I refused delivery and returned home empty handed. I emailed the vendor explaining the problem and the time crunch I was under. They were sympathetic and had another unit on its way shortly. They even refunded $200 of the purchase price for my trouble. With only one day left before the beef was due to be delivered, another freezer arrived at the freight depot. I brought it home and had a few brawny neighbors help set it off the trailer onto my garage floor. My plan was to place the freezer in an air-conditioned room in the garage. The door into the room is a standard 36-inch wide, 80-inch high (a smidgen more or less) door. One of the freezer's stated dimensions is 83 inches tall. Actually it's 81-1/2 inches (a smidgen more or less). It never occurred to me that such an appliance would be larger than a standard doorway. The freezer sat in the garage, full of beef, while I considered and discarded a number of ideas as to how to move the freezer into its designated area. I finally decided to jack up the freezer, remove its castors and set the freezer on a low profile dolly. Here's the important part. The castors CANNOT be removed. I tried. The final solution was thus: I removed the axle bolt from the wheels on the casters and removed the wheels. I lowered the wheel brackets onto plastic furniture sliders which I had lubricated with dish detergent. Even with the freezer loaded with 1000 pounds of meat, I was able to slide it through the door with the thickness of a piece of cardboard to spare. Once the freezer was in the cool room, I replaced its wheels and rolled it into place. The moral of the story. If you are considering a purchase of this freezer make sure you have a designated space for it and the means of getting it there. ... show more

    • 8 Months later, works fantastic!
The only real issue I have is the shelving. The one I had previously had way better shelves, but broke down on me mechanically. This one mechanically is awesome, which is most important!! Warranty also gives me piece of mind. Wish I bought this one in the 1st place.

    • No surprises
It works well and is HUGE. The programming and interface is a little weak but it does what a freezer does really well. In humid environment handles sweat.
