Been building desktops and gaming systems as a hobby for the past 12 years. Now that I am retired, I am going back thru my past builds and attempting to bring some into the future as best as possible. While attempting to update an 8 year old LGA 1150 MB system in a micro-ATX mini tower case, with an i5-4690, AMD R7 GPU and 32GB memory, I came across this 1660Ti GPU as a replacement GPU. I am also replacing the i5 CPU with a i7-4790K CPU, the fastest CPU you can get for an 1150 board. After replacing the CPU, the old R7 GPU wasn't good enough. Being that I was only updating an old system, I didn't wan to pay top dollar for components that were in no way going to jump the old system into today's gaming status, that's why I chose this 51RISC GeForce GTX 1660 Ti from 51 Risc. I was hesitant on purchasing this GPU solely because I've never heard of the brand and there were only a few reviews available. They were good reviews, but still, $170 is nothing to throw away on something that may be a waste of money. Well, I gave it a shot in order to save a few bucks... so far I am very glad I did. **You need to make sure you have a 6+2 pin or 8 pin cord and connection from your PSU. After the GPU install, I downloaded GeForce Experience software from the NVIDIA website and installed the software. Immediate recognition!! I didn't do any bench marking since this is just an old system upgrade, but games are much, much smoother and without any noticeable frame loss. All in all, I am very satisfied. In fact, I am considering upgrading a couple of my other builds to see if this GPU can help there also. I can't guarantee you will have the same experience I have had, no one can, but I would say, give this GPU a try, you may be pleasantly surprised, like me and if all works out, you saved a few bucks too.     • DO NOT USE OFFICIAL MICROSOFT BOOT MEDIA!
When you are building a PC with this GPU, ensure that you use Microsoft win10/win11 boot media downloaded from their website, do not use their official USB boot media as it will not work with this GPU and you won't get anywhere after POST and BIOS. That said, once Windows installed, NVIDIA Drivers installed themselves flawlessly and the GPU is working at perfect temp range (no liquid cooling in case, stays under 50c at high end graphics) and it runs intensive games at over 200 FPS. I was hesitant when I first bought it as it *is* a knockoff NVIDIA GPU but I cannot deny this is the real deal. Perfect for budget gamers, hope NVIDIA gets more competitors. ... show more

I was initially sceptical about this brand. I benchmarked the card as soon as I got it. The performance was roughly 2/3 of what it should be. After investigating, I discovered it was running at PCIe 3.0 x2, rather than x16 as advertised. Pretty disappointed, I returned the product.

I purchased the last of these Amazon had in stock late August 2023 based on previous reviews. This was an upgrade from the 4790k on board graphics to use with my 65hz 1440p monitor.
