Very nice for a small drill press. Chuck had to be replaced since the original jammed. Replacement chuck (8$) worked fine. Remember, this is a light duty machine. The motor will get warm after about 5 minutes of work.

    • The vibration is too much!!!
My trusty old drill press died so I tried this as a replacement. It was easy enough to assemble but very clunky. It is so loud and vibrates. It is absolutely not suitable for drilling small stones and sea glass. I tried to return it and the cost of shipping it back is more than I paid for it. I wasn't expecting precision at this price but come on! The quill is all over the place! I can understand the stamped steel table and base, even the light that's not an LED. But does the quill have be this loose? I don't think so. There must be 1/8th inch of play! Really? I purchased this drill press for odd jobs around the house. I was also going to use it for making holes to saddle stitch leather stuff I make as a hobby. I think this drill press will tear up the leather before it makes the hole. If you buy this I think you will actually have to mark your hole with a punch and lower the drill bit into the punch mark before you turn on the machine. There's just no other way to start the hole with so much sideways movement in the quill. I'm pretty disappointed but can still probably use the drill press and it will be too much hassle to return. Lesson learned I guess. ... show more
