This is a decent kit to get a hobbyist started - I should mention that I'm a rank amateur at smelting, I'm just a guy playing with a propane forge in his backyard. But this had most of what I needed besides tongs to get started, and the quality is decent. No complaints.

It's a good set of tools I've been using for the melting. I have several bars made for putting up and every nice day I make more. I already cracked one of the crucible. But I think it is due to my inexperience and not the quality.

Really good for how cheap they were

I got this set mainly for using with copper. The stir rods look pretty nice and so does the ingot mold. The crucibles definitely don't look the best but in fairness I've gotten crucibles that were considerably more expensive and looked even worse. My melting furnace is out of commission and I haven't gotten a replacement yet so I haven't got a chance to see what the crucibles look like after an initial heat up. I'm in hopes that they last for a few pours at least. Judging from similar purchases I'm more surprised by how nice the mold and rods look than by the lesser quality of the crucibles. Even if they don't last many uses I would still consider this a decent value for the rods and mold.

Use these in my little homemade forge. I keep it out in the garage and several times I bumped these things off and they fell to the concrete floor and to my pleasant surprise they didn't break it all. And in the forge it's as if the nothing was going on it's 2,800° and they don't show any sign of anything. So far I've only melted aluminum in the crucible so far, but it comes right out easily with graphite tools.

They are meant to hold metal for melting in a furnace, and molten metal until it cools and hardens. The walls of the crucibles are thick and they are ready to use. Installation/setup: Use with your furnace and metals for melting. Final thoughts: Care should be taken not to injure yourself. The temperatures to melt metal are very high and burns are possible. Do not touch with your bare hands. Heat gloves or tongs must be used while the crucibles are hot. These are pretty good quality and I’m glad I got them. ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.
