I always thought about how much I'd love a hot water dispenser for camping trips that would be stainless on the inside and insulated on the outside. I've never come close to finding anything, until I found this beauty! I have a 5 gallon pot that I can use to boil water and then transfer it to this so it will stay hot throughout the day. I wanted something to use for washing hands or dishes, and also use to make hot beverages without having to stop to boil water for every task. It was very important to find something that was steel instead of plastic, because the idea of drinking hot water that's been sitting in leachy plastic is not ideal. I am sure this will be on many adventures, because I love it already and it looks and feels built to last. The dispenser spigot is solid and not plastic, although it looks so from its shinyness in the pictures. The spring clasps also feel very solid and I love that the bars have grippy rubber on them for extra strength. They're not uncomfortable to open, either, where you have to even think about working up any amount of extra strength to do it, like some spring-loaded things. The handles are extremely solid and stay in a fixed (out) position when you move them. The whole unit was way more light than I imagined it from the pictures, but not in a way that it feels cheap, at all. I can't imagine having any problems lifting this do dump out water. I love the RELEASE PRESSURE button. It is a huge help when you need to dispense water faster. It's kind of delightful, actually, to just push that button and suddenly have a little more flow. The unit flows easily hands-free otherwise. The rubber seal is solid and the unit stays completely sealed with no problems. I added just some hot water from the kitchen sink to try out my camping setup, and the water stayed completely hot for several hours! I am SO thrilled with this product. I live for camping, and I'm so excited to enjoy it in the wild. I'm now considering the blue one next for cold water, since I am so impressed with the quality. Plus, they stack on top of each other. Bonus! Get one, and you will be happy!

I really like this product, so I felt I should write a long review with details and helpful tips. Here you go! WHAT I LOVE: Rock Solid Handles - I never get worried about the handles breaking when I'm carrying it. They are so solid. I can carry it with one hand or two. No Leaking - I contacted the company about the top leaking because some of the reviews said that it was leaking. Real Deal Steel informed me that they switched the gasket to a slightly larger one, which completely eliminated the possibility of a leak from the top. If the spigot is leaking (rare), just tighten the screw. I love when a company listens to their customers and updates their products for the better! They were very responsive to my questions. Always-on Steel Spout - You can flip the spout so that you don't have to hold it while you fill, unlike the plastic ones. Mirror finish interior - Super glossy polish so less likely for smells to hang around! Stacks in Garage We have two, so it is nice that they stack on top of each other. There is a little groove on the lid and on the bottom, so that it drops into place. So smart! WHAT COULD IMPROVE: There is not a lot. You might want to get yourself a long brush or “straw cleaner” to stick inside the spout for cleaning, as there are a few different components. Maybe they can provide this for customers in the future? The inside steel isn’t super thick, so it could dent—especially if you jam a big chunk of ice in there to try and break it up. But even if that happened, I don’t think it would be a big deal. TIPS: If you’re getting low flow, use the pressure-release button but sometimes that only helps for a few seconds so you have to keep hitting it. I found that if I just release one of the hinges the flow will improve dramatically! MAINTENANCE: You should take good care of it! Stainless steel doesn’t mean it is impervious to any rust. After use, dry it out completely and leave it in the sun for full drying if you can. Consider leaving the spigot in the “on” position so any drips can exit. We left ours damp and put the lid on, and we had a few tarnish spots (MY MISTAKE) —but we used a rag and they came right out. We’ve never had a problem since. So happy to have found this so we are not drinking microplastics, BPA and phthalates any longer! If you take care of it, it will take care of you. A+++ I’ve included a picture. We use ours mainly for camping but also for parties both indoor and outdoor. Thanks for creating this amazing one of a kind product!!

I like it. It is solid, keeps cold all day and is better balanced than the typical 5gal cooler. Only thing is that they advertise that spigot is metal... and that is true, sort of. The outside of the spigot is metal but the working parts are plastic and will fail before the rest of the thing will. Seems like a bad decision to chintz out on such a small part. It is already expensive, increase the price a couple of bucks and do a real spigot. If they had done all metal spigot it it would be a superb product. Also, seal on top is not water tight despite have a rubbery gasket and four tension clamps. So when full, careful of tilting as you'll get some dribbling. If I could I'd do 3.5 stars.

Another item from Amazon I had to throw in the trash. The inside stainless tank is great, which is why I bought this one, but the spigot rusted and made the whole thing unusable after a few months. Very disappointing.

We are currently on our first camping trip with the water cooler and it has been wonderful so far. I assumed the product was full stainless steel so that was surprising when I opened the box. The exterior of the product is a heavy duty plastic, as is the lid. The interior of the product is a nice food grade stainless steel and the spout is also all stainless. There is a pressure release in order for the water to dispense quicker it works great. So far we are very pleased with this product. No leaking so far...
