One of the things I didn't like about my new home was that the previous owners installed brass can lights throughout the first and second floors. Granted, they were nice can lights, but they made the ceiling look dated (from the 1990s). I found these retrofit lights while browsing on Amazon. I took a chance on them and am so glad I did. They were super easy to install and instantly transformed my dated ceiling. I was able to use all but one of the lights ordered. Several of my ceiling lights had different configurations. Three were gimbal style, and one didn't have a fixed socket. I had to try a different brand to work with those can lights (I needed ones that had clips to hold them inside the ceiling). Nonetheless, the lights that I did use look great. They are so much warmer than what was there, and I like the way they blend into my ceiling. Regarding the price, these lights are of great value. The only negative is that you must adjust the length of the socket several times to ensure a tight fit when you install them. I set the distance so that the ring was as close to the ceiling as possible but still had room to turn to connect to the socket. This gave me the best finish, flush and snug. ... show more

This product is just what we needed to retrofit into our existing can lights. The covers were damaged in our shower and we couldn’t find the correct size replacement. This light fit into existing hole and installed perfectly. This product is genius!!

Received the 6 pack and one of the lights doesn't work. Unfortunately, you are unable to purchase bulb separately and they only come in a four pack. Edit: Contacted the company and they were able to send me a new light to avoid sending the entire pack back in as they were all installed already. The lights are very bright and install very easily into an older recessed can light. I went this option to avoid needing to remove the entire can from the ceiling. It turns your older looking can lights into a modern and more finished look. It took me about 1 minute to take out the old bulb, unhook the springs needed for the old fixture, and screw in the new light. The color of the warm lights very much resembles our previous bulbs. Both my wife and I commented on how much more light was emitted in the new lights versus the older 65 watt bulbs and using a sixth of the power. I'm taking one star off as I noted above you cannot buy these bulbs in a single pack. The second thing that I am being a little picky on is there is a small darker crescent shape in all six lights. You can see this when looking directly at the light but it does not show up in pictures. Again this is hardly noticeable but something to be aware of. ... show more

    • Lights are bright
I needed 7 for my kitchen, they are super bright 2700. I would suggest putting them on a dimmer switch. Took me the 1st one to get a read on how far to pull the peg out, but super easy, as noted to install. I ordered 6 more!

    • A helpful hint with installation
These lights have a tendency to "sag" after installation, drooping away from the ceiling. I found if you slide the socket out & apply a coat of RTV or bath tub caulking around both slides, it will not sag. Also, if you push the socket end in to the point where it will just start to screw in to the fixture, the light will then pull itself tight to the ceiling as you tighten it.
