  • Good quality construction, versatile, priced competitively at $23 for the set.
I wouldn’t classify this electrical disconnect set as something I would use every day, or frankly, with any amount of appreciable frequency. In almost all cases, I can reach, and use my hands to uncouple most electrical connections under the hood of a vehicle. However, as we all know, not all tools are used frequently, but when you need them in a pinch, well, it’s darn nice to have them on hand to help get the job done. And that is how I feel about this four-piece set. It is not going to get much use, but in a bind, it’s going to be better to have them on hand, than not to. The three-pairs of pliers in the set are made well by my DIYer standards. For the limited stress they have to endure, they are more than up to the task from a construction standpoint. They are solid, have good, basic grip-ergonomics, and they have smooth pivot points. From a functionality standpoint, depending on the particulars of the connector, yes, they should work to facilitate disconnecting stubborn or difficult to access connectors. Given the fact that they are pliers, if not used with some amount of care, you could and up complicating your life by damaging older and more brittle connectors, thus caution should be used. I think that the use of any tool for uncoupling any electrical connector under the hood increases the risks of damage, so I would always opt to disconnect by hand first, before turning to tools like these. As to the included lever in the set, well, it’s pretty basic as one would expect, but it can help to lift the tabs on connectors. The design of the lever facilitates accessing the tabs from the front or back of the connector, but I would again say that trying by hand is advisable first, before moving on to the use of tools. I would also say, not to be repetitive, but some amount of caution should also be used so as not to damage or break a connector. My bottom line here is that from a quality perspective, this set should not disappoint, and the current price of $23 for the set is reasonable and competitive. The pliers in particular have some versatility on differing types of connectors, and I would advise doing some quick research to see how mechanics and DIYers utilize them for maximum usefulness, and convenience as well. I don’t have any complaints about this set. ... show more

  • Great speciality tools
Amazing little tools. I wanted to wait to review until I put them to the test.. yesterday was that test! Had to replace an engine harness in my older truck and of course was worried about breaking brittle connectors. These tools helped tremendously. They are easy enough to handle to get into some tighter spaces. The 4 stars is all about the hinges being a little tight but might loosen up with additional use. ... show more

  • A Must-Have for Modern DIYers
If you’ve ever spent an hour fighting with a stubborn, brittle plastic clip under the hood of a car, you know that a "simple" job can turn into a nightmare of broken tabs and scraped knuckles. This 4PCS Electrical Disconnect Pliers Set is the solution I wish I had years ago. The Performance: Precision Over Brute Force Modern automotive connectors (especially on brands like Ford, BMW, and VW) are notoriously difficult to squeeze by hand. These pliers are designed with a specific curved jaw and thin profile that fits perfectly into the locking tabs of electrical connectors, sensors, and fuel lines. Instead of prying with a flathead screwdriver and hoping for the best, these apply even pressure exactly where it’s needed. Why This Set Stands Out: Versatile Angles: The set includes different head angles (straight and offset), which are lifesavers when you're working in tight spaces like behind an intake manifold or deep in the wheel well for an ABS sensor. Quality Build: They feel hefty and "premium" in the hand. The steel is high-grade and doesn't flex under pressure, while the rubberized grips provide excellent control even if your hands are covered in oil or coolant. Saves Money: One broken specialized sensor clip can cost $20-$50 to replace (if you can even find the pigtail). These pliers paid for themselves the very first time I used them on a sensitive MAF sensor. Universal Fit: While advertised for electrical connectors, they work brilliantly on vacuum lines and small cooling hoses that have become "welded" to their fittings over time. The Verdict Whether you are a professional mechanic or a weekend warrior, your toolbox is incomplete without these. They turn a frustrating, high-risk task into a 5-second click. The build quality is top-tier, the ergonomics are great, and they provide a level of finesse that standard needle-nose pliers simply cannot match. Final Thought: Don't wait until you break an expensive wiring harness to buy these. Get them now and save your connectors (and your patience)! ... show more
