  • Easy to involve my son
Style: Volcano Making Kit
My son is really getting into science so this was a fun project to buy for him. It was a simple 3 step process to make the volcano and easy to incorporate my son into the process. After the volcano set, my son enjoyed painting it and we were able to reuse it for multiple eruptions over the next 2-3 weeks. ... show more

  • Works great, burns through batteries
Style: Tornado Maker Science Kit
This is great for my tornado obsessed kid, it works just as intended (set up directions weren't great) the only downside is that it burns through batteries really quickly so I feel like I have to manage how much he plays with it.

  • Huge sticker on it
Style: Tornado Maker Science Kit
It’s easy to assemble but there’s a huge sticker on the bottle. If you take it off it leaves the sticker residue all over the bottle. Not very appealing to the eye.

  • Cool little tornado simulator... a little finicky to assemble.
Style: Tornado Maker Science Kit
Nice little vortex generator, to look like a tornado. Once assembled and running, it looks pretty cool. It is just a touch finicky to assemble, especially the final wiring connection. If your child is easily frustrated, you might want to do this part for them. (If YOU are easily frustrated... you're SOL, sorry... :) ) The motor is a little bit loud, but not annoyingly so, since you won't be running this constantly (it runs on batteries, after all...) Oh, and they could have found something better to ship the little foam balls in: static cling makes getting them out of the little baggy and into the bottle nearly impossible. If you don't expect too much out of this little thing, it's a fun little display. So long as it holds up (something I don't know about yet), it's worth the money. ... show more

  • Disintegrates after two uses.
Style: Volcano Making Kit
My daughter enjoyed making the plaster mold of the volcano and painting it. It came out good enough even though the volcano mold wasn't very tight, and plaster came out of the gaps it was ok. But the volcano starts to disintegrate after a few uses of making it erupt with baking soda and vinegar. It's crumbling and falling apart. I assume the acidic nature of vinegar is eating away the paint making it peel off and is eating away at the plaster. This is not a project that can be used many times afterwards. My daughter loves to make it explode over and over again so the cost of this project for only two times using it isn't worth its value. I wish I could find a big reusable plastic volcano instead. ... show more

  • Cool experiment
Style: Volcano Making Kit
I gave this to my son as a present. We made the volcano together and he decorated it. We let it erupt outside. It was great. The only problem was that I had to keep pouring vinegar in the volcano. It didn’t continuously erupt.
