You will need great lighting to get a decent picture from this camera. If you hook it to a Yolobox it will not let you zoom in. Kinda defeated the purpose of getting it.

    • Couldn't get a memory card to work
Plugged in as a webcam it was fine, and I could use it as a streaming device that way to capture video. But it would not recognize a multitude of memory cards in various sizes and types (eg SD card, micro SD card in a SD adapter, various sizes from 8gb to 128gb) Due to the lack of being able to use this as a portable camcorder as intended/marketed, I sent it back. It seemed to have a decent sturdy ness to it, and it had a really good night vision. Had the memory cards worked, this would have been great at connecting to a portable Anker battery and having a life longer than the rechargeable batteries. It also had a 3.5mm microphone jack so that also could have been great. The microphone provided sounded okay for streaming but was a rechargable one that didn't have any indicator of low battery life. The batteries provided with the camera lasted about 70 minutes. I tried the instructions multiple times with multiple cards that indicated that memory cards needs to be formatted using the internal camera tools menu but it was not successful ... show more

After nearly two weeks I can say this is a Solid Camera. Well worth it if you're looking for a more budget minded 4k Camera to play around with before buying something much more expensive. So far it has all the bells and whistles I was looking for. 1) I can use it as an alternative Webcam when I want to have a more professional Zoom call. It lets me either remotely plug it in to my computer/android phone, or I can use the HDMI output to get a raw signal to my computer via a Capture Card. 2) The Night Vision is fun to play around with at around Dusk Time. Taking some video of the wildlife out here in the boonies coming out to graze and go about their nightly activities. I just might not use it on a completely pitch black night. It helps to have a little bit of Moonlight. 3) Audio Quality is good. Its about what I would expect from a Decent Microphone Paired in the box with the camera. Its good, doesnt have too much background noise, and it doesnt require any extra batteries (Geez I hate buying a mic that isnt earth shatteringly priced only to find out it uses a strange battery type Ive never heard of before). 4) Build Quality is Strong. Its light because its a hard plastic that resists scratches. So be careful you dont expect something with a bit of heft and accidentally chuck it across the room. 5) Video/Picture Quality. Its offers 4k & 1080p Quality pictures and video. Its about as prescribed. Just NOTE that this camera uses digital zoom. So if you dont place it just RIGHT when using it as a webcam you might be a smidge blurry. So do a little test recording or preview before you actively use it so you dont lose quality. Timelapse is a neat feature of the Camera. Ive never used a video camera for that before. So I may need to try that next. So far the quality test I did shows it looks nice. Now I just need to decide what to record. Maybe.... Sunset? Sunrise? The Stars? OH I KNOW! I'll try watching a storm roll across the plains! ... show more

This is a great Camera!! I make Have a Drum Cover channel on youtube and I needed more cameras but Didn't want to spend a fortune, I seen this camera and all the things it has like night vision, 4k , hd etc and was skeptical at first. No offence but now days so many people advertise this oh so amazing product then when it shows up its complete garbage . but this was NOT the case. I bought one and it arrived and It all worked great and gets the job done. Now as for the 4k It doesn't work for me BUT that issue is actually on my end. Many don't know this, I do now but 4k Is such a high resolution that it actually takes a pretty good up to date and good graphics and ram to be able to use it correctly. I tried recording in 4k and it recorded GREAT!!! it was my pc that was Like "ummmm, No... I'll do 1080 to make you content but 4K well, is to rich for my blood." My editing software would just not allow it lol had nothing to do with the camera itself. so After that i looked up why I can't use 4k and thats when i found out the 4k takes a powerful pc to pull off. Should of known given todays tech lol. So ya this works better than great , it works and performs amazingly and comes with a entire kit and batteries and the price is Awesome as well. and the night vision is pretty awesome as well lol.... oh and it comes with a nice little handy remote to work the night vision and all so ya like I said. Works acceptably for a webcam and a cheap handheld device. Data rate is too slow for 4K video. Would be a good crash cam. Was hoping to use the display during webcam use but it is not an option.
