This camera is a nice starter camera for beginning photographers and cinematopgrahers. After sliding in an SD card it will offer to format the card for you so it is ready for use. The camera is 4K and will give you decent quality for the price. The external microphone gets decent audio (better than the built in one) and offers a few options for capturing audio. The handle attachment makes it easy to go very mobile or get lower angled shots that look awesome. It also has a cool looking lens system attachment. The remote is nice for well, remote operation of the camera, zooming in, recording, etc. The fact that the camera can plug into a TV makes it say to play video on a system via HDMI that lacks an SD input. Also, the USB port allows the camera to act as a high quality external web camera when it is plugged into a computer. Some computers only have a 720p camera and this will upgrade that setup significantly. Lighting also looks better when it lower light scenarios. My only main complaints about this camera is the zoom is all digital and not manual. If you zoom while recording, it will act jerky as there is no smooth zoom setting that I’ve found. I will use the camera primarily as a wide shot backup camera for b-roll shots so it will serve a purpose without breaking the bank. And I can have a decent web camera when not on shoots, which is nice. ... show more

    • Directions not very helpful
For the price, this is a nice little package, with everything I needed to start shooting video. The problem I have run into is adaptability. I also purchased a wireless mic to use with this camera, and for the life of me, i can't get the two to work together. I know the input jack works, because the sound quality is good (not great, but good), with the included microphone. The touchscreen is a bit oversensitive, which left me turning on/off options when i was trying to scroll through the options. The users manual was not very comprehensive, which left me scrolling through the various settings and trying to figure them out. Message sent to the manufacturer to see if anything can be done. I confirmed the wireless mic set I purchased does work - these two items just don't work together. Very frustrating for what I have planned. Will update when i hear back. UPDATE - Well. Been 3 days and still no response from the manufacturer. Reduced from 3 stars to 1. It works, It works well after fumbling through things to figure out the controls. But the lack of response from the manufacturer kills all of this. They sell a product but appear to not want to support it. ... show more

The camcorder itself is easy to use, my husband and I purchased this for our church at the end of January; my media counterpart and myself have had an extremely difficult time getting it streaming however, we tried OBS but it wasn’t finding the camera, purchased a cheaper cam link, didn’t work. Ended up having to purchase another cam link that cost as much as the camera. This is great for beginners and those who won’t be streaming with it. ... show more

Before I get started... some things I have not tested: 1) Videoing while charging the battery 2) Used another microphone 3) Used without a microphone Dislikes: You must charge the battery on the camera Feels "cheap" Definitely not 4K - I have two other cameras that actually do 4k... this one definitely does not. The seller is misleading you with the title. So far, the videos rendered at the highest quality at the maximum resolution have been 1080. Not bad for the price paid for this camera. I bought this camera with the understanding that it probably wasn't true 4K. It turns on when I plug in to charge. It should stay dormant. The microphone jack on the camera is compartmentalized under the viewer screen. The microphone cable wraps around the camera to plug into the slot. The zoom operation is clunky. This camera has digital zoom. The zoom does not go in or out smoothly. This is probably the feature I dislike most on this camera. Lacks a good manual Likes: ** Useful as a webcam Lightweight The Battery lasts a long time External microphone capability. This comes with an external microphone that is OK. You might consider getting a better one later Easy to use Touch screen is OK, but finicky. It is best to use a stylus Wifi Control Function (this is a great feature) It has a good Light Filter (digital) Auto Exposure is pretty good for the price of this Remote control Additional features makes this camera a good choice: Lens hood (helps a LOT) and handheld stabilizer Overall, it is a pretty decent camera for the price. I decided to get this camera because I, or one of my team members, wanted to have a camera that I could video events. I don't like bringing my nice Canon XLS as it is heavy. As I stated earlier, this is more of a community camera for the tea to use for the purpose of videoing events. I also used this to supplement our webcam on a podcast recently. I was actually very pleased with the result. With the camera being so light weight, I decided to put it on a hand haled monopod and try different video angles. I have been doing videography for about 15 years now and have used a variety of cameras. Although this has a hard time competing with the big boys like Canon, I still think it is a decent camera. If you are looking for something that takes family videos and you are tired of running out of room on your phone, then this is a good option. Also, for podcasters, vloggers, and documentary folks, this is a decent budget friendly option. Also, the camera has a Type-C USB, but a USB Mini. The data rate is better. I rate it 3.0 as it is an average camera that I am perfectly happy to use for certain purposes. ... show more
