  • An interesting cross between toy and true RC airplane
I want to say that this is a real RC airplane, but at the same time, I want to emphasize that this is a toy plane, rather than a true RC plane costing a lot more. It's an expensive toy, or a cheap RC plane, depending on how you fly it. And I guess that's the best way to look at it. If you want a toy that's easy to fly, can withstand crashes, but is fairly limited in its capabilities, skip this and go for any number of cheaper options. If you have access to an RC flight field, and want a fully capable airplane, even if it's just a trainer, then skip this and spend a cuple of hundred dollars. But if you want something that is both easy to fly, but can do more, and grow with you as a pilot, then this may be exactly what you're looking for. I'm not going to repeat the info in the as for this plane; you can read it all above. What I'll say is that I had a blast flying this little gem, and my grandson did as well. He was able to fly it vertically, doing spins and such, but doesn't hav enough experience to try level flight. I flew it as a plane, and the plane flew easily and the gyro kept it very stable. The gyro makes it a very forgiving model which is important. The radio claims a 600+ ft range, and I believe it, but you'll never fly it that far away; the small size makes it too difficult to see at that distance. We did some hand launches (easy) and some ground takeoffs (tougher, but not bad), as well as hand catches, and one attempt at a ground landing that did not go well. Fortunately, the plane comes with three sets of replacement propellers and two sets of landing gear. In short, it's a fun plane to fly that can grow with you, and the gyro keeps it stable as you learn. ... show more

  • amazing plane for someone with a little more experience.
This is the best plane I've flown and I own 2 others that are trick type but this is my first jet and it actually flies like a jet in many ways in my eyes. The throttle is extremely responsive and controllable you can have this thing taking off out of sight in just a couple seconds or basically have it hover past your face. It has a easy to toggle switch in the corner for vertical mode, 6d, and 3d. It's quick and so easy to quick flip between the modes and watching this thing suddenly just shoot vertical and take off is cool with a quick oh crap anxiety hit. There's another button to do easy 1 button push tricks, push the button then push the left stick left or right or up or down and it will roll or flip right then. 6d mode is crazy to control for me im still mostly beginner but when I was trying it you could roll and flip with small twitches of the joysticks and it's extremely responsive in that mode. It's nice to have that toggle switch to instantly switch to stability when you've fumbled your plane mid air and it's just tumbling straight down. Awesome part is being able to catch your mistakes mid air, sometimes over doing it could make it kinda flop mid air and lose all sense of anything and start tumbling through the air, just hit the throttle and it's instantly straightened out again. I'm sure this thing can do much more than I've even attempted it's very fast and easy to learn to control. Great plane for the price and I think it's made quality enough to last a long time. ... show more

  • Light and Ready for Flight
The first thing you will notice about the RC airplane is the weight. It is VERY light, as it is made of foam. This is a good thing as it not only takes less to get it going, but there is less risk of damage when you inevitably crash it. The design is fantastic, easy to assemble and looks great once put together. The controller feels cheap, but gets the job done. The flight time is very limited, but that is to be expected. The flight time will also vary pretty significantly depending on you fly and the weather conditions. Great package that is easy to learn and control. I especially like the "drone mode" as it is a completely different way to fly. Overall good value for your money. One start docked due to the controller as I feel they should have made that feel a bit more durable. ... show more

  • Love this plane!
So this plane is so much fun. We have a pretty wide stable of rc planes, from little 2 channels to full on scratch built 4 channel 1400mm planes. And this one is one of the funnest. With the different modes you can instantly do all kinds of maneuvers, while still staying in control and pretty low risk of crashing. It’s pretty cool to take off in vertical mode and get it to over, then flip the switch to go to normal horizontal mode, or acrobatic mode and take over flying normally. The plane is made well, nice quality foamie construction. It’s a little larger and heavier than the other planes in the price range, so it does better even with a little wind. Over all this just works very well, has a lot features and modes that other planes in the price point don’t. Super fun for everyone. ... show more

  • A plane that we could not fly out of the box
We were very excited to try and get this plane to fly. We installed the wheels, charged the battery, and got the remote control ready. Tried to launch from the ground and it veered right took off slightly and crashed into the ground. That left the rear right rudder broken on the first attempt to get it off the ground. It was still held on by tape, but definitely was not moving the same as left side rudder. Seems like the material is not made to withstand too many crashes, but in our case, it did not survive the first crash. For this toy, you will need to definitely know what’s going on and how to configure. Definitely not for a beginner, which is what this plane appears to be made for. ... show more
