I've used our macroscope with grandkids a lot. I bought these to help them get started with their own scope that I'm giving them for Xmas. These slides don't begin to compare with looking at, for example, the leg of an insect that they've found dead somewhere. The process of handling the insect parts seems to have removed a lot of the detail. The wings are not full wings, but a cut segment of a wing. I wouldn't say they're worthless, and I haven't looked at ALL of the slides, but I am underwhelmed with the tray that I previewed. I think the kids will still enjoy exploring them though. Tip: don't try to look through the top of the slide (the side where the writing is read-able) because the film used for the writing/image/color makes the subject blurry. When you grab a slide to look at, place it face down in the scope (writing will appear backwards through the plastic slide) and look at the subject from what would seem to be the back of the slide.
