40 Series Go Kart Torque Converter Kit w/ MOUNTING BACKPLATE 40 series go kart torque converter kit includes set of brand new high quality 40 Series 1" driver pulley, and driven clutch (5/8" OR 3/4" OR 7/8"-- choose your size per your installation), mounting back-plate with jack-shaft and 203785 belt. Plate is cut from 1/4" thick solid steel. Great for use on high performance engines with a 1" crankshaft diameter-- Ideal for Predator 420CC, GX 340/390, Briggs and Stratton, Vanguard V-Twins, Duromax, Powerhouse 420cc and Ironton 420cc. PACKAGE INCLUDES: BLAST LED newly designed bolt holder for bolts on 40 series driver. Newly Design holder for 40 series bolts for 1" crankshaft. Ummm. Don't really know what torque converter kit commentor before me bought or what engine he put it on but I bought this exact kit, bolted it directly onto a Honda GX390 per the instructions and it works perfectly and flawlessly! I did install a "stall kit" in the drive clutch wich included heavier springs and lighter rollers to engage at a much higher rpm for my application, bought separately! So unless you have a setup like his, you'll be in good shape with this kit! ... show more

Not a fit for counterclockwise rotation engines, but not hard to modify

Doesn't seem as poor quality, but most small engines rotate counterclockwise, and this T converter has positively wound spring on the driven pulley. You Will have to take apart tge driven pulley and modify the red spring reversing it to become negatively wound. The red spring that cones with T converter, them reds are all weak springs. You could stretch the spring, and also bend forward like, the last 1.5 inch length of the spring ends. All that adds to the spring stiffness. Also use different hole to wind the spring, so you can achieve more stiffness that way too. All in all this product seems ok, but, if you have counterclockwise rotation engine, it will make you do some work, and figure things. Yellow negatively wound spring from comet is best solution ... show more
