I'll be honest--I don't like breaking the backs/skulls of mice. I don't like torturing animals by trapping them on glue in order that they die a painful, horrendous death. That's why I bought these after a neighbor let me borrow hers. The first night I put one of these traps out, I caught a mouse. I've since caught 2 more. I'm kind of disgusted that I've caught that many mice (I try to keep my home very clean), but I'm chalking it up to the freezing cold in the 2022/2023 enticing them into my crawlspace. Make no mistake--these traps work and they work well. You just load them up with food (I use peanut butter) and set them out. I've got one in my utility room (never caught anything), one near my dogs feeding area (caught one mouse) and one tucked in a corner of my kitchen (where I've caught the other 2). If you're within ear-shot, you can hear the trap activate. Other times I've heard the trap rattle as the mouse tries to escape. To release them you merely remove the rear of the trap where the bait is loaded. If you're deathly afraid of mice then you might still be scared of handling the trap with a live mouse, but it can be done fairly easily. I take them either to a field near my house or near the woods to release them. If you really aren't keen to kill and/or torture animals to death then this trap is the one to get. Well, I purchased the four pack of this trap and when they arrived, I baited them and tried to set them out where I have seen the mice have been running around. But one of the four traps was defective and I couldn't get it to stay open once baited. I got frustrated and put it out anyway since I was in a hurry. When I came back a day or two later, all the traps, even the broken one had caught mice! I was shocked and don't know how that mouse figured out how to get in, but I guess he was committed, lol. I guess the peanut butter on Ritz cracker bait was too tantalizing for him to resist!! So I won't be sending the defective trap back. Thanks for making these really good traps!!!?!??!! ... show more

This device worked very well at trapping the mouse in my apartment that was giving me trouble. I set up the trap with peanut butter and the following day I checked the trap and the little guy was chilling in their. He ate all the peanut butter! The little fella started to plot his escape. His plan was to chew his way out of the trap. I was able to safely release the lil guy at the local park to keep the birds company. It was super easy to open the door (it slides off) to release him. Once i got home I inspected the trap and the mouse had chewed off a lot of the plastic. I am sure that given enough time he would have chewed his way out. Mouses are too smart! I do recommend this trap because it does effectively catch them BUT taking off a star because a determined mouse can escape! So make sure to check it daily to avoid ruining the trap. ... show more

I have a few weird clients that don't want mice killed. So, I explained that if I use a live catch trap, I will need to come back every day to inspect these traps... and I charge for those visits. Mice left in these traps for more than a day will either die from dehydration or chew through the plastic. We'll see how long they want to pay me to visit every day. ... show more

These traps do work great. I take small pieces of bread with peanut butter on them and insert them into the bait area. The traps are sensitive enough to trip even with the tiniest mouse.. I have bought two packs of four and have caught over 20 mice in my basement. The only problem is the mice chew through the plastic. Several mice have escaped through holes that they have chewed through the top of the trap. I check my traps 4 to 6 times a day. Point being the mice are usually only in the traps for a couple of hours. To be fair sometimes one mouse starts the process of chewing the hole before he is released and the next mouse to be trapped in the same trap usually finishes the escape hole. Obviously after that the trap has to be thrown out. I get 3-5 uses per trap. ... show more

These traps work. First 24 hours we had 2 mice out of 2 traps. The traps are easy and safe to bait and set, and I don't worry about the dogs getting hurt in them. They clear plastic makes it easy to see if they are sprung. We did have to soak them to get out the mice poo---not necessary---but I wanted them clean. We recommend these humane traps. ... show more
