The wire locks together with the aluminum foil both outside and inside to form an airtight and leak proof lock system. I know this is a little superficial, But the fact that it's not shiny tinfoil color makes it less noticeable/tacky. It was easy to install, and seems strong. Definitely improved my dryer's ventilation and efficiency.

I bought this to replace an old foil vent tube that was leaking. This is a much better quality with the outer wrap protecting the foil tube.

    • Not a true 4 inch hose.
Great quality, sure it will last a long time, however, not a true four inch hose. Just a little shy of four inches. I had to make a cut to get over dryer exhaust and outside dryer vent.
