My 6 and 8 year olds love this woodworking station they got for Christmas . The only problem we have had is the little saw blade broke in half. We did install the one extra saw blade you included, but what do we do if we need other supplies? Please start selling extra parts and supplies or tell us what we might use to substitute.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this product was so disappointing I am making an exception. I had purchased a different set for my grandsons, which worked well but had some disadvantages (unit is fixed, has to be reassembled to use different tools, is somehwat underpowered) that I thought this woodshop would address. The set looks great -- the bright plastic tools are mounted on a surface that can be easily moved and each separate tool is powered by a single motor attached to a central power source. But behind the plastic facade is a toy that looks like it was created by brilliant designers and first-year engineering students. First the sander froze up after five minutes of use by my 4-year-old grandson and was permanently disabled. The little drill press uses a spade bit that is so underpowered it barely eats through the sheet of paper-thin plywood provided -- and then repeatedly pulls out of the plastic head. The jigsaw is, again, woefully underpowered, and the blade continually pulled out of the mounting until I tightened the set-screw as much as possible. Even then the little blade barely made it through the plywood, frustrating since it could not be maneuvered. The lathe was also disappointing. Again, because of the lack of power provided by the interchangeable motor, the lathe constantly jammed with even the lightest pressure from a blade. (To make things worse, the dowels provided seemed to be made of coarse-grained wood, tearing up under the blade as they turned.) The boys were understably disappointed, and we went back to the old unit, which performed far better, setting the WorkStation aside. Given its underperformance, I decided to return the unit and wrote the manufacturer (I would have liked to have worked this out with them) via Amazon. That was three days ago and I have yet to hear back.

We got this for my 8 and 11 year old for Christmas. It’s definitely super cool but- the saw aspect is hard to maneuver for them. Otherwise the boys feel like they have their own little workshop now. The lathe is super fun and my little guy LOVES the sander. It’s definitely a really cool real life mini shop. It’s taught them a lot of responsibility and safety while woodworking. Perfect gift for young men to begin woodworking.

We just gave this set up to my son for his 9th birthday, and so far everything is great. It DID include an extra jigsaw and sander piece. The lathe doesn’t work so great as far as we’ve experimented with, but we mainly got it for the jigsaw. It kept him busy for hours! So far we really like it and lots of family members thought it was the coolest gift ever.

Both driller and jig saw were broken during the first use, following the instructions and working with the supplied woods. This seems to be a great idea but with a poor execution. I wouldn’t recommend buying this product. This was my son’s birthday present and it caused him a-lot of sorrow instead of joy.

Bought for a 4 year old who loves to watch and help with anything dealing with tools and he would have his own. But, you cannot turn a 4 year old loose on this, he could cut his finger off! This thing really cuts as a jigsaw would, really drills holes and sands…and the wood planks are supplied. Also, you can really turn out a table leg on the lathe (really small table). This thing is great and my 4 year old can do it, and loves it, but I would not let him do it alone. Great product.
