Description

Count this as a holiday toy win! This simple cash register for dramatic role play is play-based learning at its best. Children can develop essential math skills while engaging in imaginative store play scenarios that feel just like the real thing. The calculator cash register features oversized buttons and a large number display, making it accessible and appropriate for children of various ages and ability levels. The working solar-powered calculator helps kids practice addition, subtraction, and money recognition in a natural, play- based context that doesn't feel like "learning" to them. This comprehensive 73-piece set includes everything needed for pretend shopping play: pretend bills ($1, $5, $10, and $20), plastic coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters), a pretend credit card for modern payment scenarios. When children press the large "open" button, they're delighted by the authentic "ka-ching" sound as the drawer pops open, just like in a real store. The cash register becomes a centerpiece for imaginative scenarios—grocery stores, restaurants, ticket booths, and more—providing endless entertainment while reinforcing real-world math applications. Many reviewers note that children reach for this toy repeatedly, often playing with it for extended periods and incorporating it into diverse play schemes.

  • đź’— “The Toy That Turned Playtime Into Real Learning”
Color: Pink
I’m a mom of two girls, and like many moms, I’m always looking for toys that don’t just entertain them but also help them learn naturally. This pink Learning Resources cash register has been one of those rare finds that truly makes a difference. My daughters loved it from the moment they opened it. The “cha-ching” sound when the drawer pops open is their favorite part, and I love watching them use it to pretend they’re running a store, a café, or a little market at home. What I appreciate most is that while they’re playing, they’re actually practicing basic math, counting, simple addition, and money skills—without me having to force the learning. The set comes with 73 pieces, including life-size play bills, plastic coins, a pretend credit card, and an activity guide. This gives them tons of possibilities to create different scenarios and keeps them engaged for long periods of time. And since the calculator runs on solar power, I don’t have to deal with batteries at all. Over time, I noticed my girls started understanding the concept of money better, recognizing amounts, taking turns being the “cashier” or the “customer,” and even creating their own little systems—something that helps both their imagination and their social skills. If you’re looking for a toy that truly supports your child’s mental development while keeping playtime fun and meaningful, this cash register is a wonderful choice. In our home, it has become an essential tool for playful learning. ... show more

  • Cash register
Color: Blue & Red
I use this in my 2nd grade classroom and my class loves this cash register. It’s very durable. It’s helping all students learn their coins, earn money, make change, and buy treasure box items (which I also purchased on Amazon). A lot of my students asked their parents to buy this for them! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Love this
Color: Blue & Red
Love this cash register. Had one with my kids. Bought this one for my grandson. Works well. He loves it. I actually used my kids years ago for my yard sale. Great product. You won't be sorry.

  • Fun, simple, and educational toy
Color: Blue & Red
Overall this cash register is a great addition to my kid’s house center and gets played with most days! Pros: -realistic money, especially the coins. My kids love these coins, and they extend play to “robbers” and “pirates” -simplistic design: I appreciate the register simply being a calculator. Very useful! My four year old works on his math skills while my two year old is still satisfied with button mashing. Basic design with limited noise promotes creative play. -the note pad: my kid love to write receipts. Very appreciative that the spot for the note pad is perfect for a stack of post it’s. -traditional bell chime when drawer opens -durable, solid construction -credit card swipe spot: because let’s be honest, kids see us swipe our debit cards all the time - they like to do this too. Cons: -coins do fly everywhere if you don’t use your hand to slow down the drawer popping open -I 100% would have sacrificed true size bills for four slots. My kids like organizing the money and it’s obnoxious having to combine two of the bills -somehow there are several coins which are stuck in some abyss inside the register and I cannot get them out. I don’t know what events led up to this issue (as in what my kids did to make this happen), but it is annoying that they cannot be worked out of the toy ... show more

  • Fun and educational at the same time
Color: Pink
My daughter absolutely loved it. The bills, coins, and card feature make it feel very realistic and fun. She enjoys playing store, and at the same time she’s learning how to add and subtract without even realizing it. I love that it combines play and learning. The fact that it’s solar-powered is also a huge plus. Definitely a great purchase. ... show more

  • Christmas Gift
Color: Pink
My daughter loves playing with the pretend cash register at the library so I thought for Christmas we could get her one of these! So far it has been one of the most played with gifts from Christmas! She loves the pretend money and getting to press all the buttons and open and close the drawer. Be aware the coins do you like to fly out of the drawer whenever you open it. But that seems to be the case with any toy that has little pieces to it! This will be a great toy that will last for years to come! ... show more

  • Best play cash register for kids
Color: Blue & Red
A mom blogger on Instagram said this specific cash register was the best one for kids, and so I got it for my 4 year old niece. I agree with her - it is sturdy, the money looks very alike to real money instead of playbucks, the coins especially are impressive and have the same texture as real coins (such as dimes having ridged edges), and the credit card makes a little ding sound when run through the slot. It's lightweight to carry and comes with a note pad which helps with writing "receipts" to practice numbers, and the register is a functioning calculator. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Fun and durable
Color: Pink
Good quality cash register! Very realistic. The money drawer works well. The key buttons make noise . I bought this for my grandchildren. 3 year old and 8 year old. They love playing grocery store with this. I thought it would help with learning to count money. My other 3 grandchildren also have one. ... show more
