When I bought this tent a few months ago, . I was new to camping so I did quite a bit of research. I wanted a spacious, waterproof tent for me and my boyfriend that was easy to put up and not too expensive. I’ve used it 3x and have been happy so far! 2/3 times it rained. Not a torrential downpour but definitely more than a sprinkle. Everything stayed completely dry. It’s also very spacious inside with a high ceiling. We use a queen size blowup mattress, and still have plenty of room for our stuff! And finally, what I like most about it is how easy it is to put up. The last time we went camping, I felt bad for the people next to us who struggled for at least 30/45 minutes to put up their tent. Whereas, we were done in about 10 minutes, which included putting on the rain fly. I would definitely recommend this tent for a a couple or possibly a family of 4. Finally got a chance to go camping again used our new Hinstant 6 person tent. This is a really nice tent. The set up was very easy and fast. The tent was good size for our needs. We have a queen self inflating mattress and a small self inflating camping pad for our daughter. There was about 2 feet between the 2 mattresses for a couple of our bags. At the foot of the mattresses there was only about 18" which was a bit tight for us. Wish the tent was just a bit deeper to accommodate our bags but that's not the tents fault. We had a cold front move through and the tent did well in some decent winds. The winds died down and later that evening it rained steady, not terribly hard, for about an hour. The reason I am giving this tent one star is after about 30 minutes of rain the tent began leaking in multiple areas. the seams were leaking all over and there were significant puddles in our tent we had to deal with. We camp frequently in a multitude of different situations and currently have 5 tents. This is the only tent that we have encountered this issue with despite being rained on many times in our other tents. I am very disappointed in the lack of water resistant of this tent because its actually a nice tent. I would send this back but I'm beyond my return window. This tent is definitely better than the tent I was using before. It’s fast and easy to set up and break down. One person can do it with no problem. It’s a 4-person tent but realistically it will fit two people with gear comfortably. It held up well in very windy conditions this weekend. Thankfully it didn’t rain. Crossing my fingers that this tent doesn’t leak. I’m rating this 4 stars because of the zippers and material. The zippers are okay, I guess. I just wish the windows had two zipper pulls. I like choosing where I want them to be cracked open a bit. The door does have two zipper pulls but one only goes horizontally along the bottom and the other starts at the bottom and curves up. Again, I would have preferred two free sliding pulls and be able to choose where I open the door. The tent material itself is kinda loud. Granted, it was very windy this weekend but the material sounded very “crinkly” like tarp. It’s not like hammock or parachute material. I had to stake the tent down again in the middle of the night and make everything really taught, including the rain fly. This helped some but it made zipping the door difficult with the extra tension. I’m sure the material wouldn’t have bothered me if it were normal weather conditions. Overall, I really do like this tent. Just a couple of tweaks and it would be perfect for me. ... show more

Leaks water . I scotch guarded this tent prior to use. For added water resistant. Scotch guard couldn't help the seems from leaking. Every seem is sewn using flimsy material that water just seeped in. The little ties at every window acted like a wick and drew water inside. The zippers seeped in water. I had a two inch river around the whole perimeter of the tent . The only dry spot was the very center. The slightest wind shook the frame and whole tent aggressively which also leads me to doubt this tents sturdiness, safety and durability. So grateful I got the opportunity to try this tent out before the return window closed and even more grateful that it rained. ... show more

Got it — here’s a balanced version that keeps the honest, conversational tone but reads clearly and professionally enough for a public review. This was my second pop-up tent purchase, and at first, I thought it was a great buy. I got the HINSTANT tent for easy camping during the Jeep Invasion at Lake of the Ozarks here in MO. It performed perfectly that weekend — three nights with no issues at all. Setup was a breeze, I could stand up inside (I’m 5’10”), and it easily fit a queen-size air mattress with room for me, my girlfriend, and our dog to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, the real test came later. We went on a quick camping trip October 24th–26th, and it rained — not a downpour, just steady rain. Within a few hours, every window and even the inside pockets were leaking. The rainfly didn’t seem to help much. By 10:30 PM, it was clear we were in trouble, but we were 30 minutes from the nearest store and everything was closed. What was supposed to be a relaxing two-night trip turned into one soggy, frustrating night. For a tent advertised as waterproof and costing around $150, I expected way better weather protection. It’s a shame, because in dry weather, it’s actually a really nice tent — quick setup, roomy, and comfortable. But if there’s even a chance of rain, I’d look for something else.
