  • Worked great, great value. Must have for doing floors.
Excellent. Great value, well worth the money. I used this to lay 1/2” engineered hardwood and it worked perfectly. I used it on the lower end of the minimum pressure rating, around 70-75psi and this was perfect for my floor. Unfortunately you can’t use it for the first row, or the last couple rows, but for the rest this was great. No issues, no jambs, no messing around, worked as intended throughout the whole floor. ... show more

  • Worth every penny! Worth every penny!
I spent way too much money renting one of these things before realizing that I was going to need it much longer than expected. Considering this is the 2nd hardwood floor I've installed, and probably not my last, I decided to look into buying one of my own and not rushing through the project. I think I paid less than $90 for this, which was about 2 days worth of renting one for me, and it has been a good investment. The floors I installed with this had been sitting in boxes for years in my grandmother's home, which she lets get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Much of the wood planks were bowed and installation was rough and slow. I had plenty of problems with this install but luckily this staple gun was not one of them. Worked beautifully at installing 3/4" prefinished oak wood. Haven't tried to change the height plate so I can't speak to 3/8" function. Came with a mallet. The first pic was what it looked like before attaching the handle (straight out of box, minus the plastic wrap) and I apparently failed to take a pic after it was all assembled. This was nicer than the one I spent all that money renting. Wish I had this for the first project I did. Seemed to work best at 70-90psi. As long as I strikes the mallet correctly with enough force, there were no issues with Staples. But I got lazy and distracted once, and didn't strike straight on... Sort of landed on the side, and I paid for that mistake. The staple didn't go in all the way and it made me sweat trying to pry that board up. I paid closer attention after that and also made sure my pressure was above 70psi (had to pry another board when my pressure got low). ... show more

  • Used to nail my engineered wood floor. Worked well
This was cheaper than renting the tool to do my floor. I put about 5000 cleats through it with 4 jams. Then I sold it online so really low cost option. My only complaint it that jams are difficult to clear. You have to remove 4 bolts. I don’t know how they can make a sophisticated heavy duty tool like this for such low price. I recommend. ... show more

  • Incredible item for the price Incredible item for the price
I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product. It was going to cost $50/day to rent one of these, so I figured I would roll the dice and buy one for $100. I installed 700 s/f of 3/4 x 2 1/4 red oak and it went extremely smoothly with this product. I used 2” Metabo staples and only had 4 staples (out of around 7500) that didn’t go in correctly. Just a few very minor recommendations for improvements, but I would 100% buy this if you need a flooring nailer. 1) The bracket that holds the Allen wrenches broke almost immediately. It is held in by a couple of plastic push connectors, and those broke. Didn’t affect the performance of the nailer at all, but could use higher quality connector. 2) The part that slides over the staples/nails would sometimes struggle to stay closed, especially when it was completely full of staples. 3) It would be awesome if there was some sort of indicator when you are low or empty on nails/staples. There were a few times that I didn’t realize it was empty. Eventually I got used to it and there was a slight sound difference when it was empty, but I’ve used nailers that will not fire if there are no nails/staples. ... show more
