Been my faithful companion on the ambulance for about 4 years now in a busy 911 service. I like it because I can hear breath sounds, blood pressures, and heart tones just fine. I noticed a large difference in this vs the lightweight s.e. But I did not notice a huge difference between cardiology 3 vs this one (I’ve owned all the above at one point) I’m not a pulmonologist nor am I a cardiologist so to me it does not matter as much to me to be able to diagnose heart murmurs/friction rubs/etc like you can on a cardiology 3 or higher. I have no problem hearing lung sounds/heart tones and what the general type of sound I am hearing. Works fine on kids too despite not having a pediatric side. Very effective, pretty rugged (I have had to replace the diaphragm kit once or twice but that’s a relatively expected complication for me with the abuse mine gets) no cracks in the tubing so far and if you lose this stethoscope it’s not as expensive as losing a cardiology 3, etc. ... show more

  • A great set of ears!
As an EMT, there is an added challenge when it comes to scopes. Sound quality of scopes is definitely important, but even more so when you are working in a loud environment. Listening for BP and lung sounds in the back of a diesel truck is difficult at best. A good scope is extremely important. The Master Classic II scope is by far the best scope I have used for this purpose. The amplification is extremely good, single tube design eliminates the "static" of the tubes rubbing together, and the ear pieces do a great job of blocking out ambient noise. The scope feels very well constructed, and bell has a good weight to it, which makes it easier to handle. Not to mention, that the black on black design just looks slick. As someone mentioned, the tubing is a bit tacky, but that is definitely not something worth taking a star off for. The next time my scope gets lost or "borrowed", I will definitely get myself another one of these. ... show more

  • You have to pay shipping to return this product!
The most important thing to know if you want to return it to buy different one you have to pay for returning the product. I'm disappointed in Amazon because they always have free returns. The product is ok, it works well but is heavier than the one I had for the last 25 years. It's just cheaper to buy a new one than to buy parts to fix another. I bought ear pieces a few years ago and they were $18 which I thought was kinda expensive. But take a chance, just letting you know you will have to pay for return from this seller! ... show more

  • Greatly audible!!
I previously used the cardiology STC for over 10 years. It was good working but finally broken. Limb was cracked out. I tried to find out diaphragm assembly only, but I couldn't. So I decided to purchase new one. I am not a cardiologist but a nephrologist. Actually, almost physician. I don't need extreme stethoscope. By a lot of reviews, I decided MasterClassic II brack edition. Beyond expectation, it does work well. I can hear S3, S4 as well as heart murmurs. Black color is cool! In addition, since it is smaller than STC, I can well fit it for thin elderly persons. Simultaneously, I could find diaphragm assembly. So when it will be broken, I will not have to buy new expensive stethoscope. The diaphragm also fits cardiology III, Cardiology II.S.E, Classic II.S.E. ... show more

  • terrific stethoscope for the price!
I had the Littmann lightweight since nursing school and now going on 7 years. Although it's done a solid job for me up until now, I needed the upgrade. I found it difficult at times to hear with this stethoscope, unless the wheezing or crackles were loud and prominent. I am an RN in an emergency department and not only do I want to be able to complete lung sound assessments on my patients, whether it be to confirm ET tube placement or just wanting to know if someone is wheezing and having an asthma attack. The stethoscope itself looks sleek in its all black, and what I actually like about it is that the tube isn't as slick as my Littman lightweight, so it doesn't easily slip off my neck. for $100 its an incredible value as not only is it cheaper here as compared to AllHeart or Scrubs and Beyond, but if you have Prime, for it to come in 2-3 days is awesome! ... show more

  • Clarity through the chaos
I’m a cardio tech, and I often have to perform stress tests on my patients. Whenever I need to do a manual BP this stethoscope never fails. Even with the audible stomping of the patients feet, the treadmill whirring, and the MD trying to talk to me at the same time, I can clearly hear their heartbeat. Not sure how it’d do with other things, but I’m pretty impressed for what I need it for. ... show more

  • Fantastic price for a great product
Fantastic price for a great product. Used this for all my EMT classes, thru respiratory school, and now as a RT. I'm listening to every pt I see, so that literally means I've used it thousands of times, and it's always been pretty darn accurate. Of course there's better ones out there, but its hard to beat at this price point. Plus, it's very durable. I'm a germ--phobe, so it always stays in my car, and I've never had to replace any of the tubing (live in NC, and heat can get brutal in summer time). I'm going to PA school, and would continue to use it, but are required to have Cardiology III. Great buy! ... show more
