Description

3M 1080 WRAP FILM SERIES are long-term, removable, dual cast coloured films are designed for solid colour vehicle detailing, decoration and full wraps without graphic protection. This film's Controltac pressure-activated adhesive allows it to slide and be repositioned until firm pressure is applied. The non-visible Comply air release channels assure fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installations. These vinyl films (minimum 3.5 mil) are sold in 60 inch rolls, allowing almost any section of a vehicle to be wrapped without seams. This film is recommended for full wraps and can be applied to your vehicles hood, trunk, roof, mirrors, door handles, glass, motorcycle parts, chrome, metal parts and just about any relatively non-porous surface. Okay so first things first this is a picture before I finished... I just put this one on and left it like this for a month to see how it did during the summer and how the heat could affect it.... well it’s been perfect. I bought this as a nice fix for the paint chipping that keeps appearing in front of my hood scoops on my 2004 Pontiac Gto. I have that Torrid Red,and this was an exact match....got lucky on that one!! I cut out a nice pattern and applied it in front of each scoop,and it sticks very well. I just wish the company I ordered it from had a nicer way of packaging it. they sent it in a cardboard tube that was redicilously thick,and the caps that keep it enclosed on both ends had industrial strength staples in them. I confirm this is legitimate 3M product I have used many times before. The air release makes it phenomenally easy to use. It's really great that this is offered in a 5ftx1ft size, as it is very economical over having to buy a much larger roll just to wrap a small object. I used it to wrap my espresso machine cover that had a couple of unsightly scrapes and chips on the paint. Make sure you buy 3M Primer 94 when using this. Came rolled as it should instead of folded like some others I've seen, which is awesome of them. In the process of trying to match vehicle color and this sample size is perfect. It's very maliabule and easy to work with. Adhesion is great. The color matched what was displayed very well. I'm using this to wrap parts of a plastic rolling drum cart and it's sticking really well, goes around corners really well, and looks great - red and glossy just like pictured. Yeah, I've got wrinkles in the tight corners, but I'm also not a professional wrapper and don't know the best tricks. I use a variable heat gun and some plastic tools to tuck things close, but mostly, I use my fingers to smooth things down (I bought a felted squeegee but it doesn't work as well as fingers and plastic tools for my purposes). ... show more

Wrapped my PS4 panels with this and I amazed at its flexibility and durability. As long as you don't cover the vent slits on your console this vinyl really does work on many devices and surface. While intended for Car use it is surprisingly easy to work with on other surfaces and devices. Having made a mistake in my initial application the vinyl works great to re-straighten and with a little bit of heat from a hair dryer straightens right our for re-adjustments. need the vinyl to stretch over a unique corner apply heat to that area and watch it warp but stretch it in the desired areas and it covers with ease. ... show more
