Description

3M 1080 Series Satin Flip Ghost Pearl Vinyl is a dual cast film specifically designed for vehicle application to provide dimensional stability and durability without the need for an overlaminate. The pressure-activated adhesive allows you to slide and reposition the film over the surface of the vehicle until you apply firm pressure. 3M 1080 is available in 60in (5 ft) widths making it possible to wrap virtually any section of a vehicle without seams. The non-visible air release channels assure a fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installation, when professionally installed. Saving valuable installation time.

I recently purchased the 3M 1080 SP280 Satin FLIP Ghost Pearl Car Wrap Vinyl Film, and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. Right from the start, I noticed prominent glue lines running through the entire roll, making the installation process frustrating and time-consuming. To make matters worse, the vinyl film was already wrinkled within the roll, which made it nearly impossible to achieve a smooth and seamless wrap on my car. No matter how carefully I applied it, the wrinkles remained, resulting in an unsightly and unprofessional finish. Considering the high price I paid for the 5ft x 60ft (300 sq/ft) roll, I expected a premium-quality product from 3M, a reputed brand. However, this experience left me disappointed and regretful of my purchase. I reached out to customer support, hoping for assistance, but the response was slow and lacked any helpful solutions. It seems that the quality control and customer service for this particular product are subpar. In conclusion, I cannot recommend the 3M 1080 SP280 Satin FLIP Ghost Pearl Car Wrap Vinyl Film to anyone based on my experience. Glue lines and wrinkles within the roll make it unsuitable for a clean and professional-looking car wrap. So in short, this color is pretty cool. It's a true satin, which makes the car stand out (i.e. not shinny gloss like almost all factory paint). The pearl, however, is very small compared to what I expected. In full, bright Arizona sun, it can have a lot of color pearl come through in certain areas, IF the car is perfectly clean. My first time vinyl wrapping and it was difficult! I messed up a lot, but towards the end I got the technique down. It looks like a regular white from far, but the ghost pearl comes out really good under certain lighting condition.

Put it on motorcycle tank and it stuck to itself. Went to pull apart and it ripped immediately. ZERO HEAT WAS APPLIED. Horrible product. Super sticky to the point I can barely get it off my hands when I let go.
