The media could not be loaded. My kid isn't too coordinated but he loves fancy knives and building things so this was the perfect gift. I think collectively he spent maybe 3-4 hrs putting all of them together with frequent interruptions. Some of them are built with rubber bands so they imitate certain knife actions, like the switch blade flicking out. There's even one that launches the "blade" which is pretty cool. The pieces are cut really well and fit together nicely. They're wooden puzzles so there's an inherent fragility, but for their purpose they're surprisingly sturdy. No falling apart. No shattering on impact. No broken rubber bands. My boys are 10 and 15 and they haven't destroyed any of them yet, which is a feat. They don't serve any real functional purpose but they're a great STEM project for a weekend and they're just really really cool

I put all six knives together. 4 went together and work perfectly. 1 required improvising and ignoring the instructions, but after cutting off the ends of some pieces that were installed as instructed, but prevented the rest of the knife from going together, it works and looks great. 1 of the knives cannot be assembled and used according to the instructions or with the pieces provided. The worst one is the one that resembles a "push dagger." It is meant to allow the blade to fold down with an interesting movement of the handles, but when assembled as instructed the blade is locked in place and has to be forced into the open position, which strips the locking mechanism and causes the blade to be floppy and not point straight. This was the last one that I assembled, so I had become used to the instructions and methods to put these together. The kits also come with duplicates of many small pieces, as well as a few large pieces, so I was able to try again to see if it could be assembled in a way that works, or if I made a mistake somewhere. Going through everything again, it is clear that I assembled it right the first time, or at least according to the instructions, with all of the numbered pieces going in the right place and connecting to the right part. Looking at the product image, the example knife has different hinge parts for the blade, and the opening in the handle that the hinge goes in is shaped differently. I still have enough functional parts to make the knife, so I am going to go through again and see how I can modify the parts to work, though I am doubtful. If I modify the locking part to allow the blade to move, the blade will not lock, but if I allow the blade to lock, it will not be in the right position to look like it is supposed to. The 4 knives that went together perfectly are very nice and were fun, as was the one that I had to modify. The solution was so obvious that it really did not detract from the experience. The last knife was just insanely frustrating. These puzzles are fun, but be warned that they may not all go together as instructed.

This is a surprisingly intricate and satisfying build. Laser-cut wood pieces are precise with minimal splintering. The interlocking tabs fit snugly without excessive force. This is not a beginner-level puzzle. The mechanical structure requires patience and careful assembly. Instructions are clear, but attention to detail is necessary. Once assembled, the moving components function smoothly, which makes the final product feel more like a mechanical model than a static display. e wood feels sturdy, and once assembled, the structure holds its shape well. For adults who enjoy hands-on mechanical model kits, this offers hours of engaging build time and an impressive finished display. Overall, excellent value, excellent quality, and excellent fun-factor! Highly Recommend!

First off the instructions are simple to follow and i love the included sandpaper to smooth edges. I have built 2 of the kit so far and both took about 10 mins and they neat and actually open and close! The wood on these is like cheap amd honestly these would be better if made of a composite plastic or such but its still unique. 4 stars imo
