  • A really good intermediate+ printer for PLS, upgrades are needed for some other filaments
We have really enjoyed this printer thus far, although it does come with some points that need to be addressed before you can really jump into things. Pros: - You can really get a LOT of quality out of this printer. We use 0.2 height for most everything and it all comes out quite nice. However, to get the best out of this printer, you do need to dial the speed back a little to around 60mm. 80mm works fine for most prints, but if you are looking for details and a nice surface, dial it to 60mm. - It is incredibly quiet! One of the quietest printers we have worked with so far that isn't enclosed. The upgraded board really does make a difference on those drivers. A good 90%+ of the noise comes from the fans. Everything else is the bearings when the X/Y axis makes large/fast movements. - Like you'd expect, it comes with all of the tools and pieces to build and maintain this printer, as well as a few extra parts (a nozzle, a push-fit connector, a few screws). It also comes with a half-size reel of white filament to get you plenty started with--however, we'll also mention this in the cons. - The printer is pretty stable thanks to the four legs vs two, and you can print plenty more stabilization for it. We recommend printing the bed arms as well as the stabilizer arms for the frame (just two for the back two legs). The build quality is really nice, and everything comes together evenly and tight. - As for coming together, it does not arrive assembled, although it is somewhat assembled for you. Most of the hard parts are finished and all you have to worry about is the easier parts and plugging in the wires coming out of the power supply below. We used the instructions at times but didn't find ourselves having to go to YouTube or anything. For the most part, it was quite straightforward. There are even instructions printed on the top of the base so they are always there. Cons - We also recommend printing the strain relief for the cable where it attaches to the heating bed. It is only connected via two solder points, so it isn't the best design for something that moves around a lot. Thankfully, the bed moves very slow, so the concern is low. However, you can still accidentally grab onto and pull the cable while your working and that could put a strain on the solder points. The arm helps to prevent that from happening. - The filament it comes with isn't the best. In fact, it broke half-way through printing the sample cat design, as you can see in the images. We swapped out for the normal filaments we like to use and everything printed just fine. This did lead to us having to thoroughly clean out the extruder though before swapping to another filament as this was where it has broke, leaving fragments in there that caused the extruder to skip until we found where the last few pieces were hiding. So we recommend AVOIDING the sample filament this printer comes with. - The bed could have been bigger for the price point to help compete against brands like TEVO. - You will not be able to print to ABS out of the box. You will want to change out the print bed to a non-magnetic option that can get hotter, upgrade the nozzle to a non-copper/soft metal, and fully enclose the printer in a box or a zip-up enclosure, to help capture all of the heat in. Despite all of the cons, it is an EXCELLENT PLS printer that does a really good job at the finer details if you need it to. Or you can spit things out with speed if you crank it to 80mm speed and 0.3+ layer height (although more than 0.3, you'd want to swap out the nozzle for a larger one). We do recommend painters tape on the magnetic bed cover if you want to keep using it, as the print sticks MUCH better than directly to the magnetic cover. We found printing directly to the cover led to the first layer sliding about half the time unless you really took down the speeds, which is no fun. Just make sure the layers of tape are even and side by side with no gaps or bumps, else you'll see it at the bottom of your print. You could also opt for a PEI-style magnetic topper which doesn't need any modification to the bed as it sticks just like the stock one. We found the prints stick better with that on this printer (and pop off way easier). **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. • Well built, but keep an open mind while assembling
I'm approaching this from a TOTAL noob standpoint, so keep that in mind and take my review with a grain of salt. Give them that fair benefit of the doubt. With that said, I'm no novice to electronics and this was quite similar to building a PC, just with more moving parts. For fairness-sake, I will update my review after I've had time to get a couple prints and acclimate myself more with the printer. Packaging: It was well secured and I had little feeling that anything arrived damaged from the second I opened it. Great care was taken make sure this arrived to me in perfect condition with foam. Tools, screws, and everything else arrived individually packaged and clearly labeled. Well done!1 Contents: Okay, ONE complaint, it arrived without a couple of the plastic pieces covering the exposed, uncoated aluminum end caps on a couple of the bottom square. I searched the boxes and the foam packaging to make sure it wasn't embedded in it, but it was not anywhere to be found, so it must have been lost during production. I just moved ones from the back to the front for presentation purposes, but still was still purely an oversight in quality assurance. Until I update other sections and put this through it's proper paces, this is the only ding against it's rating and knocked it one star unless it gets fixed (read other sections for why) Assembly: On the physical assembly side, it was easy for the most part, but the instructions need some reworking. The basics are there and one can figure out how to proceed after thinking about it, but I feel like it could be even easier with simple rewording and expansion of the current manual. Quirks such as the corner supports having to face a certain direction were not relayed and I had to do some minor backtracking. Not major, but an inconvenience that could have been avoided with a single sentence in the instructions telling me how to assembling it correctly the first time.1 I had two extra of each screw, but this was obviously an to accommodate any potential errors. While it gave me the typical heart attack of having extra parts, it was a GOOD THING and I great appreciate the extra thoughtfulness. Anyone who complains about extra, free replacement parts is just a whiner. For other noobs building this: make sure to check the voltage switch in the center of the backside and make sure it's set to your region's voltage. This is not relayed in the instructions and could be easily overlooked if you don't know what you're looking for. If you do not properly set this, it will not allow your unit to power up and will give the appearance of the unit being DoA. It almost got me for a minute after I flicked the switch for the first time. Printer Quality: PENDING FIRST PRINT. Will update once done, but 5 star placeholder for benefit of the doubt. Possible improvements: Expand the literature for assembly and specifically on quirks that are needed for successful and fluid assembly. Touch on the voltage switch for the casual user in the assembly manual. I may update this more as I update my review. Tech Support: I did not need to use them, but gave them 5 stars anyway for the benefit of the doubt due exclusively to the positive reviews I've seen from others. DO NOT hold me to this if I'm wrong. ... show more

  • Works amazing once you get the settings right
Size: Ender-3 V2 Neo
I have to say that once you get the printer set up it is a great machine!. My personal encounter after assembly was to make sure the power is set to 115v, once you power it up, move the z to zero, then go to the z offset and set it between 1.75 and 1.8, 1.8 was perfect for mine, and then check your height with a piece of paper, then check the corners and adjust accordingly with the large adjusters, clockwise is closer and counterclockwise is farther away from the plate, after that save the configuration and auto level, you can then install the creality software from the USB drive and either test with the included files or download files from thingiverse and enjoy! ... show more
