  • Hard to bend; hoop legs need anchors
Pros: The fiberglass rods are lightweight and rustproof, and you can choose how many rods to make each hoop with, for different size arches. The metal joining tubes are sturdier than I expected. The green clips are sized perfectly to snap onto the rods to hold netting or thin frost cover fabric. Cons: The fiberglass rods are very stiff. It takes a lot of force to bend them into an arc, and they want to spring back into straight rods unless held in place. Also, the rods slide easily in and out of the metal connectors, which makes them prone to popping apart if the hoop ends are not secured. I want to use the hoops in ordinary garden rows. Without having the solid sides of a raised bed to hold the arches in place, I experimented with ways to help anchor the hoop ends. I discovered that my landscape fabric spikes that have a circular loop at the top work fine, pushed into the ground along with the hoop feet as shown in my photo. All in all, not the easiest setup, but very usable and quite versatile for different size plants. ... show more

  • Fast to Install, yet Not Really Stable
It is really easy to install, you mark down the place where you want to place each loop, connect the rods with the included connectors, it takes less than 5 minutes to setup. If you are looking for a quick one, this is it. But no lateral support was in place, meaning it is not stable when trying to put up the covering, they should have included in the design, adding 3 to 5 perpendicular to the loop should make it stable. In reality you want to install this on a frame first so you have the flexibility to open and close to water or provide the greenhouse effect. Can be improved. ... show more

  • Need to Place Deep in Soil or Against Raised Bed Frame
There's a reason these hoops are shown inside a raised bed: the sturdy fiberglass rods must be bent into arches and therefore exert a lot of outward pressure at the base. I found that I had to drive the rods farther into the soil than I had expected. For this reason, you may need to use more poles than you would have otherwise. Harder, firmer soils will require less deep anchoring, while looser ones will require more. This comes with plastic clips to attach netting to the base of the poles, but it does not include the netting itself. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann ... show more

  • Sturdy and helpful!
I have tomato plants that have become a regular appetizer for a resident deer, and needed protection or we won't get any tomatoes at all. This kit came with everything. I do wish there were more joints for the rods, as I feel like I have way more rods than joints. The clips it came with to help hold the netting in place work great and in some places I was able to overlap a ripped piece or a bunch of extra netting. Very easy to put together and so far nothing has fallen down, so that's a win!! ... show more

  • Working as Advertised So Far
These are doing the job so far. They parts are of average quality (the clips are probably below average). So, as with many products, only time will tell. I will update this review if anything fails prematurely or I encounter any issues with the durability in the future.

  • Fit together easily
Set is a series of stakes that fit together and bend to create an arch over your garden bed. Pieces fit together easily and are decently sturdy. These grow tunnels are for raised beds.
